Could any one suggest me which important things I should consider to select a good dedicated server, RAM, number of CPUs, system OS or something else?
Our team's websites run with PHP and Mysql, we have less traffic on each website but we have more websites.

If your website don't see too much traffic to your website(s), a decent Reseller Hosting packaged on a Shared Server could provide you with exactly what you need. When getting into utilizing a Dedicated Server, you'd more or less just be wasting the resources by not being able to utilize them to their full potential. Can I ask, how many websites do you have and how much traffic do they see?

I always suggest to people that they take shared hosting first. When the loading is slow, you can check with the tech support. They will have statistics to show how much is your load and if the load is high, they will usually recommend you to upgrade to a VPS. If you are on VPS and your load is shown to be high, then they will recommend a dedicated server.

Most hosting companies work this way.

As you mention that you have less traffic / server load, then I think you can go for multi domain share hosting plan or you can go for VPS Hosting, as these two options are cheaper than Dedicated server, all you need to select a reliable hosting provider with excellent support, as support is equally very important.

And as per good Dedicated server is concern, yes you are correct, you should check its speed/cpu, hard disk (should be in RAID 1), ram & check if its giving some free IPs or not, there are provider giving 2 FREE IPs.

You can find some good dedicated server advertisement in webmastersun.com's "Dedicated Hosting Offers" & in "Advertisement" Forum.

I'd recommend you to use dedicated servers from ewallhost, they are low cost and full-featured and their technicians are great and fast.

You said that you had less traffic on each website, no matter you have more than one website, I recommend you to choose a reseller hosting package. This help you to use the resources suitably save money.

The above guys said right..! Sure, it depends on what traffic you currently own it. The recommendation is that to make sure that you're able to upgrade to better package next time you need it. Looking for some reliable share hosting service, then upgrade to next better package when your traffic increased...
