When you look for a theme for your blog you want to keep in mind the point of your blog is it's about you. So try to find a look that is not to over used and something that defines you. Say your a super girly girl try to find something in pink or if your a boy and love sports look for a sport related theme.

Well, not every blog needs to be so personal.
Some blogs are made to share information with others.

Agree with that, blog is actually not always about the writer or about the personal life, but instead, it's the writer ideas or opinion about what's happening around them. and make a story based on their beliefs and should open to criticize by the reader also.

There is a thin line here. As much as your blog should reflect you, it should also mainly be targeted towards your audience. You're not going to read the blog yourself, are you? You're blog I'm assuming is mainly targeted at selling stuff. For anyone that has read a diet book, one of the main principles is that you should stop watching advertisements for food or stop passing a fast food restaurant if you can avoid it. Studies have shown that food advertisements are aimed at getting you to buy food e.g when you see a picture of a burger or a piece of chicken don't you feel like going to KFC? or to Burger King?

The same theory should be used on a website. Design your site to attract people to it. Make it irresistible, let it sell itself.

Hi Holly Nicole,

How are things going? :wave: In my opinion, you don't need to base the theme of your blog with your personality or what your gender is nor your favorite color. I guess you have to base it on how it could attract your targeted audience as well as the substance of your blogs.

The content of blogs are your day to day activities. Your experiences you just want to share with others and they might learn lessons or relate on these experiences too.

A unique website design must have the following features:

*visually attractive design that is easy on the eyes ;
*organized layout of contents and images ;
*user-friendly interactive features that makes navigation easy ;
*detailed contact information ;
*reviews and comment box.

For me choice of colors and design automatically reflects the personality of the owner of the website or if not the offered services or products. The design need not be a complete creative work of art. What makes it truly unique is its functionality and how customers are called to action whenever they visit the site.

Design should be unique but should clarify the purpose of the site or where you are using it. The design should be co-related to your website or the product for which you are designing it.

The graphics with text is the best approach to attract the visitors. Always think from the visitors point of view while designing. If someone is viewing the design first time then it should be easy for him to get the idea, what is the design is for.

Simple and meaningful design is important.

In choosing a unique design, it really depends on the user or the one who makes a blog of what kind of design he/she will used.
If you would like a simpler but unique and nice design, choose a minimalist design.
If you would like a graphical designs, choose a graphic design.
There are so many unique designs in the website.
If you are a girl, you can choose more like a girly designs and if your a boy, you can choose more like a boy designs.
Some of are more likely to use a minimalist design because the design are user-friendly to the eyes and can be used what type of website you are making. Minimalist designs are fittable to all kinds of website.

It's always best to get a unique design, whether it's a custom theme by a freelancer or a pre-made theme customised to your own likings with css changes and bits added / removed as long as it looks appealing and does the job it's a good unique design.

Just be yourself when making a design because everyone is unique in some ways. Be original, think of who you are and what others will see in you. When they read about your blog make them realize something unique about you.
