.com, .net are TLD, top level domain, and co.uk are SLD, second level domain.
Are there "third level domain, fourth level domain" and so on?
How many different TLDs and SLDs are out there?

Third and fourth level domains are actually just sub domains like alps.hosting.com or forum.alps.hosting.com. I have never seen go beyond 5th and so on so far.

.com = Top Level Domain
.uk.com and website.com = Sub Level Domain / Secondary Level Domain
website.uk.com = Third Level Domain or Subdomain
subdomain.website.uk.com = Subdomain of a Third Level Domain or 4th Level Domain

I guess it can get confusing. Just know that...

1. Registrars manage the top level domain and delegations under it (.com .net .uk.com .some.domain)
2. You manage the base domain before the part the registrar manages, and can create infinite subdomains with many sub levels.
3. If you'd like, you can even start your own domain service with subdomains, but this is rare and hardly ever trusted. Look at what happened to .co.cc and that whole fiasco.
