If you will be start a blog, it is best you start with a single niche (central theme, specific market) first instead of spreading yourself out to multiple topics and markets.

Start writing with what you are passionate about or knowledgeable. It is easier and more spontaneous writing for you that way. Example if you like traveling, you can establish your travel blog based on point of view of a teenager or young adult. You can revolve your topics from planning, preparation, actual and coming home, and include problem/solving scenarios. It is very important that you will be able to relate to your readers by adding substance to your content by way of bringing pure entertainment, added learning (problem-solving), or upliftiment of the mind or spirit (positive vibes).

Remember a single niche blog will be better off in attracting traffic and loyal following eventually to the blog. Also, SEO is better achieved this way especially in terms of searchability. Monitor progress of your blog if it is attracting its desired market and read comments to get insights for improvements. Soon, you will getting requests to write on special topics which are outside of your zone, where you may decide to evolve and expand to other topics as part of your blog's natural growth process.

If you are a newbie, some try blogging in forums first or work as a freelancer to get a feel, practice and experience before venturing to their own blog. There are a lot of probloggers offering free readings online on how to be start blogging and even bootcamp. Have no fear! Stay focus on your goal and be positive always. Good luck!

Important thing is that you should be aware of what you are writing about. PC and cars? Than write about PC and cars. Sport and travelling? Write about sport and travelling. After you have some number of posts you will understand which topics and what kind of content resonates better for your audience. Such way audience loyal to your blog will be formed

If you are seeing your blog as to increase number of readers, and to expand traffic and monetization, you can pick a specific niche. Try to sit down and brainstorming list down all the articles you can write about in correlation to what you are trying to project, depending on your interest and expertise. For example, you can write about everything in regards to the latest restaurant you've been to; or diy crafting niche; or even a topic about handling finances in a right way.

When You narrow down your writings to a particular niche it helps you position yourself as an expert in that particular field and people start to recognize you as a specialist in that field. Now while this might take a while it comes with many benefits once you can become a master of a particular niche. let's say you write about healthy living and your contents are good, sooner when it comes to issues regards environmental health you will be at the top of everyone's mind. your blog will gain recognition for that.

It's best to focus on a specific niche when starting a blog. Focusing on a specific niche allows you to:

  1. Establish yourself as an expert: By writing in-depth, high-quality content on a specific subject, you can establish yourself as an authority in that niche.
  2. Attract a dedicated audience: When you focus on a specific niche, you can attract a dedicated audience of readers who are interested in the same subject. This can lead to a more engaged audience and more opportunities for monetization.
  3. Stand out in a crowded market: There are many general interest blogs, but by focusing on a specific niche, you can differentiate yourself from the crowd and stand out in the market.
That being said, if you have broad interests and write well on a variety of subjects, a general blog can still be successful. The key is to find a focus or angle that sets your blog apart from others and resonates with your target audience.

In conclusion, both general and niche blogs can be successful, but starting with a niche focus is often recommended as it can help you build a dedicated audience and establish yourself as an expert in a specific subject.
