Cloud server is ideally a storage that can holds big files that a typical computer cannot acquire. It is a program wherein people can subscribe with and they can choose that option for saving data. No matter happen your computer, as long as you have an active cloud server subscription, data and files can be easily retrieved.

Cloud server is a virtualized computing instance hosted on a virtualized clustered infrastructure (Cloud computing infrastructure). Such infrastructures feature:
- Scalability (it does not have to be powered off to install new computing resources - CPU, RAM, Storage, anything)
- Some form of Failover (High Availability) (which means if there is a interruption of service, there is a automated procedure in place to return the services online shortly and to avoid longer downtime)
- Load-baancing (some Clouds feature load-balancing as a way to offload certain host of system and to distribute the computing tasks across other computing nodes part of the Cloud system)
- External Storage Arean Network (SAN), with different storage policies and different storage types (SATA, SAS, SSD)
- Fault-Tolerance for computing tasks on a infrastructure level and on the Cloud server level (This provides business continuity).

Refer this post - https://forumweb.hosting/16787-cloud-server-vs-shared-hosting.html

:)

If you want to handle the high traffic with better security then cloud is the best option for you. On cloud hosting , instead of purchasing the fixed amount space with single server, cloud hosting will provide the virtual space with your need. You will need to pay for the space which you're actually using.

Your data in distributed among the various servers so there is no chance service down. As Cloud is using the infrastructure as platform, you don't have to worry about the hardware, electricity as they have their own setup.

Cloud servers automatically balance the traffic on your network so you do not need to worry about that.

In traditional hosting, you used to face the issue of server down, excessive bandwidth and resource usage which can be overcome in Cloud hosting.

The "cloud" definition seems to change almost daily.
My definition of cloud is practically the same as @HostColor's. However, places like DigitalOcean use "cloud" as a marketing term - selling VPS's with the option of hourly billing.

Also, from my experiences and people I've talked to, cloud is less stable than a traditional dedicated server. YMMV, though.

Cloud Hosting refer to particular resources allocated for your business whereas there are multiple servers located in different country to response audience all across the world. Mainly cloud servers are from Vultr, DigitalOcean, Kyup, AWS and Google Cloud Platform. But if you are non-technical person then setting up these servers can be worst nightmare you ever had. What actually I mean is consider you bought a new laptop without windows, somehow is like that but there are some good cloud hosting platforms who can play the role on your behalf. Cheers!

In my own understanding of what is a cloud server is that a cloud server is like a big storage room for your files especially the big ones that a typical computer can't handle. You can store your big files in the cloud server if your computer or desktop can't handle that much of space or memory. Cloud server is more safe to store your files compared to a hard drive because you can only store limited amount of files in the hard drive depending on it's size as well and also there is a possibility that you might misplace it or you'll loose it, and because of that you can't retrieve your files anymore because you already lost the hard drive together with the files you stored in it.

A cloud server is a virtual server (rather than a physical server) running in a cloud computing environment. It is built, hosted and delivered via a cloud computing platform via the internet, and can be accessed remotely. They are also known as virtual servers. Cloud servers have all the software they require to run and can function as independent units.
