When I was into domaining people had it that .com is the king of domains due to its mass usage and the way it ranks people,

But when .io came into the scene and started selling well for thousands of dollars, even sold one of my day old .io name for $90 that was brownies.io, just registered it and auctioned it on flippa and I got some offer had to sell it off,

With the mass increase in buying .io domains people also have it that .io helps in ranking just like .com

But to me I love .io because its not used by everyone just by some certain webmasters, I want to know which one really ranks well just as the topic already asked

Can you share with us your review?

Thanks

.io is actually a regional domain, but i read it some time ago that google does not considers it as a regional domain anymore, it is considering as global domain just like .com .net or .org

Webmasters are buying .io domain as it looks good and also due to .com shortage

domain extension does not matter when it comes to SEO. However, peoples' perceptions matters when it comes to determine the value of a domain extension. Since dot com is a default domai and the first domain extension, people trust dot com more than anything else. Since some extensions are being used more by scammers and spammers, people are skeptic about that extension, for instance people do not trust dot xyz. I don't know what is the fusss about dot io. registering a dot io domain cost about $35, it is the price you paey for three dot com domains.

I don't think it has any potential to improve your site ranking. But if you meant that .io can be more eye catching then I don't think so in my opinion. How can .io attract more traffic that .com? which will result in improving your site ranking. Maybe if it had any noticeable change then I agree but I don't think it'll attract traffic nor will it change your ranking just by having .io instead of .com

IN terms of SEO it doesn't matter if it's .io, .com, etc, as they are all treated equally (except for local search, but you can do geo-targeting to make your domain locally relevant). Having a .com won't help you rank higher than .io
