I'm curious to know whether we could encrypt all the data in our web storage space and retrieve it via some kind of special decrypting tool on demand so that the real interaction with the outside world will be though that tool and we could totally control the access. Also it might act as an emergency kill switch in case something goes wrong. Forgive me if this is a stupid question. I'm new to all web hosting and website management.

If your websites are in PHP language then I would suggest Zend Guard to encrypt your PHP codes, It will encrypt all files or just files you choose. Minimum version of Zend Guard is 5+, but to run this software then your hosting needs to support zend5.

Wow so there is a way to do it huh? It's great! So this will enhance the security of a website a hundred fold. Thanks for the information David. Zend Guard is not supported on most of the server it seems. The Zend loader must be run to make it work. Well, anyway I currently don't require it. I was just thinking of the security precautions side.
