What do you think of $1 web hosting plan / month? I see more offers like this on forums and really they are attracting me a click to buy :)
I think it is something that is useful for some people with low budget. But maybe you have to check carefully and make sure that they are a really REALLY good host that you will put your websites on them.

I think you should check carefully what exactly does this plan include, because if there is no uptime guarantee, no solid state drives, no technical support and others, then it's better to choose a host that will provide you with these things. There are hosts, which provide such features along with their plans at cost, even lower than $2, but at least you'll know you get something for these money. After all, your website should be up and running, which means you should find a reliable host that can assure you that. As long as the price I think it's not a determining factor, because sometimes hosts give big discounts and you can find good services at really low cost.

No just NO. No provider can make a profit at that price. It's a short term money grab by providers just looking to cash in and then shutdown 6 months later. and dumping the customers. for $3 or 5$ a month depending on who you go with of course should be a quality fast and supported service.

I have to disagree. We have been selling a $1/mth plan for half a decade and I don't see us shutting down after 6 months, which was like several years ago. We don't really intend on profiting with $1/mth, but it helps us bring in more sales for our bigger plans. If you are relying on the $1/mth plan to make money, then that is definitely not a long-term plan.

I see your point of luring people in with a $1 plan but it's a gamble you making to cover operating costs with it and hoping enough upgrade. But if it works for you then good job.

You are a complete different case than the $1 hosts that just pop up and you've paid your dues and put in work, $1 a month can be profitable with enough low usage sites and time but I would say the majority are not a professional operation as you are at that price.

We offer very little resources on our $1 plan, so anybody that wants to run a busy site will have to pay more. It doesn't really lose us any money so it is a win-win for us. :)

The first hosting plan that I bought cost me less than $1 per month. By paying $9.88, I got 12 year of hosting. I was really happy for what I got for what I paid. This offer was on namecheap. Later, when I joined various forums, I found many hosting willing to host my website for $1 permonth. I even bought the services with two different hosts. I did not have anything to complain.

Hello

Many of these offers come from a country where $ 1 is "money." I do not know if I explain, but they will know that the euro is ahead of the dollar and not to mention the British pound.

I was recently following a web site hosted in Namecheap and the server load times, were terrible, did not cater on request.

The services that the $1 hosting sites will give cannot be as effective and satisfactory as normal paid hosting sites. I believe you should go for quality over quantity when choosing a Web hosting provider

I agree with hineyolu!
Although $1 hosting sites for more people but I have not tried it because I doubt I can get quality services from kind of these services.
I always go with shared hosting from $8/month and VPS from $20/month.

$1 shared hosting is most likely oversold and it has a big chance to end up being slow, if a provider gives you $1 VPS it could sound like a summer host (who closes down in 6 mo) but don't judge too fast, the provider could be good too :D

Be careful and check reviews to be sure before and don't be convinced with less than 10 reviews, they may be paid.

No No No... Cheap web host providers could suspend your account anytime. If you end up in any problem, it will not be solved because of low-quality support. Do not buy $1 hosting, instead it would be great to invest $4-$5 per month with reputed web hosting company.

You really made a point, but some of these host companies are located in countries where the dollar is far higher, they can offer good hosting for such amount as a new company.I think a good research will help better not the fee.

Of course, because they don't have responsibility for maintain your services when running on their server fro free or at least it will have no support for free hosting.

Do not buy $1 hosting, instead it would be great to invest $4-$5 per month with reputed web hosting company.
I can disagree with this because $1 hosting and $4-$5 per month are not more differences, the difference is only when you choose a right shared hosting with this price. Even $1 hosting can be better $4-$5 web hosting if the provider is good and they will provide enough features that you offered to you.

But the web hosting company which offers $4-$5 hosting have more cash flow as compared to $1 hosting. If the company has cash, they can serve customers in a better way.

Moreover, the price of cross-selling items such as SSL, dedicated IP, etc. is a way more in $1 hosting as compared to $4-$5 hosting.

I think, there is the difference.

I agree David it all depends on host and what they offer for certain price, quality of service>few bucks anytime and not just for hosting. Low price doesn't always mean crappy service and higher price doesn't guarantee it.

$1 web hosting can be reliable but I wouldn't expect it to be managed because of the overhead. If you can configure everything yourself, it becomes much easier to optimize as long as you have the requisite technical knowledge. If the host is good and doesn't overpromise, you should be able to get a good deal if you know what you're doing.

You will not expect to optimize $1 web hosting because it is only available on self hosting like VPS or dedicated server while type of this hosting then you will not can archive it with that price.

I suppose $1 hosting is suitable for small websites and it used to be shared hosting plan.

If you go with a $1 a month hosting company, I would at the very minimum take backups every day. I would really doubt the sustainability of a company offering such a price. Unless massive overselling is taking place, I would highly doubt that they are covering their costs, unless they are selling maybe 500MB per 1$ or something lower than average in terms of resources.

With hosting, generally speaking (of course there are going to be exceptions) you get what you pay for.

$1 web hosting is a risky subject. You need to ensure you take time and read reviews, interrogate the support staff about certain features that interest you, and overall research the company before proceeding with a purchase.

I agree with you but I would suggests for someone doesn't have a hurry in choosing a shared hosting with $1, if you have already a hosting plan for your websites and wanting to try $1 web hosting then it is worth to test your websites before you move to it. Anyway, $1/month is very small amount and you can try without worries about losing more money :)

Thanks for your advice, I will follow these guide but not sure about reading reviews for a specific hosting plan, it is too hard to know if there was real review or they were created by their marketing team, but anyway $1 is a small amount and it is worth to buy for a short term to check if that is good then go with long term, I think so.

Read through the plan you have selected and write down on a piece of paper what they are offering you. Do you understand everything? If not find out what it means because you don't want to sign up for 1 year and then figure out that there is a difference between addon domains and parked domains.

I have some friends who tried the $1 plan. There has been no issues so far but they tend to opt to upgrade as the limited resources on the plan is insufficient for their use.

The cost is low so not much committal of budget is required. We need to be realistic and not expect too much from such plans.

I would try to avoid this if you can. Something that nobody here has mentioned too much is ownership of the IP that you upload. There are some hosting sites that take the IP you create, and use it to make their own products. I'd look out and read the T+Cs a lot!

I've never heard of such outrageous nonsense. Pretty sure they'll shut down in no time if that's the case....

Yes, it looks like a good offer. But is it really? You should check before committing to it. You may not see the results you may want to. They may not even deliver on their promises and disappear overnight. But you will feel that what's $1, I can't expect much. But there's time wasted which is more precious. If you use something which you cannot be clear about, how can you expect to achieve your targets in a required amount of time?

Always remember that time is more important. If you want required targets then invest on something more realistic and approachable. Even if they charge more than what you're currently looking at, it would be all worth because you'll achieve the targets that you need. And they may give you many benefits which this web hosting site may not. So look at all the terms and conditions properly and then only commit to it.

There is no problem with a 1$ or less per month host, they should work well for small website. They are just not suitable for someone with a high traffic website or big space requirements.

Yes, these types of host are catered to beginners for those who wish to test waters without committing too much resources. It is also good to consider the problems if you are required to transfer to another host or upgrade your package plan.

It is important to understand the T&Cs of the service rendered by the host. I would do a forecast of the content and expected resources required and project it over a couple of months. If the projection still meets your needs, there's no harm trying it out.

I appreciate the cheap and best policy but before going in for that it is better to check in thoroughly to avoid regretting later. $1 a month is very much affordable and it will indeed a lot of buyers. It is best to check if they can provide good security, quality service, and good customer support to clear your doubts and queries on time. :)
