So for you, what is important in a dedicated server?
I am checking a dedicated server offer and they are offer these features

Intel Xeon E3-1270v6
4c/8t - 3.8GHz /4.2GHz GHz
32GB DDR4 ECC 2400 MHz
SoftRaid 2x2TB
500 Mbps bandwidth
vRack: 10 Mbps

I think the first 3 features are important for me when choosing a dedicated server.
The price is also important when you have a list of good features :D

Templates are useful to install quickly a operating system on a server, and it's really painful when a provider doesn't provide anything to setup your operating system, especially with particular network settings. Do you prefer to install Centos/Ubuntu or cPanel from a web interface or to have to deploy a template on the disk via ssh ?

Private network are a great feature as soon as you have more than a single server. This way you can link two servers with a secured network

#1 feature would definitely be IPMI (remote reboot and KVM)...anything else we can handle ourselves, other than hardware failure or network issues...then you are reliant upon the D/C for that no matter what.

Why these factors are important with you when choosing a dedicated server?
They are very new to me and I have not considered these factors when choosing a dedicated server.

Enterprise Hardware - it provides better performance and lifetime, For example, DDR4 ECC reg RAM vs comman DDR4 RAm or i5/i3 processors vs Xeon processors.

Private connection between servers - bandwidth usage is totally free in private connection, so you can move any data with in your servers in same DC without losing your monthly bandwidth

Free IPMI - helps to manage the server even if the server is down or not accessible. Also can reboot, re-install or changing any BIOS parameter from your end.

Free IPv6 /64 block - You will get lots of IPv6 IPs in /64 block, if you are familiar with IPv6, you can use it instead of buying expensive IPv4 block

Enterprice Grade Climate Control & Redundancy -- provides better server lifetime.

Yes! The first one is extremely important. Most likely, your hosts server won't be taken down by hackers unless they're very skilled or determined. However DDoS attacks are very frequent unfortunately. If my host can keep those to a minimum or isolate them when they happen so as not to affect my server or site. At the same time guarantee me 99% or more in up-time with equipment upgrades here and there... then I am sold.

After Sales Support is the most important part of a good provider. Also hardware version is another issue and CPU as well.

Always make sure you get enterprise Grade Hardware.

If you are hosting important data, always remember to use RAID 10 storage.

Finally, if its a production server, don't go the budget route. You always have 2 of these 3 things :
- Reliability
- Price
- Good Support

OVH/Soyoustart have good reliability and price, but bad support ( unless hardware )

It is important to take note of the reliability and the service the dedicated server offers in relation to what you need it for. While you should also look at the price, I don't think that should be a determinant

Standard DDoS protection for security measures, preventing downtime and stop DDoS attacks.
24/7 Support and Customer Service. To have someone I can run for when trouble happens.
Backups and Data Redundancy. For another layer of protection.
System Administrator Support, and
Customization Options for your adaptation in changing environments.

The primary thing I look for is professional, competent support. I've been with providers where their level one reps couldn't answer the simplest of questions. If you've got a kick ass server, but the provider's support is awful, it's time to migrate elsewhere.

When I think about dedicated server plan the most important think is the features of that plan means which processor, what about RAM, Disk, Bandwidth, Dedicated IP and server all this thing are very important. Also some company provide best discount offer or coupon code for best price and most important think is support what type of support they provide to us.
