Does CloudFlare Railgun really help speeding up you website?

I read more about CloudFlare Railgun and its benefits but I didn't have an opportunity to use it because its price is too high. Did you guys use it. Does CloudFlare Railgun really help improving loading speed for your website?

I believe if that is not an official announcement from Cloudlfare then its just a rumor.

    I've read about it.

They say that with RailGun they will try to cache your dynamic pages as well.

Normally cloudflare only caches static pages, css and javascript files, because they are normally static on any website.

But with RailGun they will also try to cache static parts of a dynamic web page, and serve the static content through their datacenters.

    It's not exactly caching.

They use a script loaded on the webserver, which communicates with their edge server. When a dynamic page is requested, the script is able to tell what portions of the page are different, and pull only the unique content/changes from the host, and serves the rest from cache.

i.e. Let's say you have a page that is dynamic (un-cachable) but the only difference is "Welcome (username)" at the top. Cloudflare will serve the page from cache, and only pull the username from the host.

Cloudflare Optimised Providers are able to provide Railgun to VPS and dedicated server customer's for a reduced or no cost. We have heard positive feedback from our customers that use Railgun!

Yes I've read about the concept of listeners and senders, but as you have also said main concept is delivering as much content from the cloudflare datacenters(caches) as possible.

So is. It must be installed on the server and some markup must be fulfilled. If you are partners you can install it for free. And it works very well. In hostproton we have it active for clients
