There are lot of people who are against PHP. I am really interested to know your views about it. Would you rather learn PHP in 2017 or some other language?
What do you think is the future for PHP frameworks ?

PHP is still very relevant in today's society and I think it will be around for awhile. In saying that, technologies like NodeJS is gaining traction on the PHP marketshare. The issue with NodeJS comes down to it not being shared server friendly. With PHP if you write some bad code, you might slow down the entire server, but it recovers quickly. With NodeJS, if you write some bad code, NodeJS will crash and now everyone's website on that server is down.

Reminds me of the early Coldfusion days. They eventually fixed that problem with Coldfusion and I expect it might be fixed with NodeJS one day. But for now, its an issue and helping keep PHP in the forefront of being the primary language of the internet.

Why don't you learn Zend Framework? it is a poplar PHP frame work that big systems are using.

PHP frameworks are for big web projects and no doubt it is the future of web development and for web developers.
PHP is being used by popular web cms and I will go with this programming language because its also having a large of communities supporting it.

I think Phython will dominate web programming languages soon. And I also think Django may replace wordpress or become an alternative to wp. It may not happen in 2017. But just some future predictions from what I am seeing from recent trends. If I need to learn something else than php. That will be phython for sure..

PHP is wide commonly used in everywhere and no Python is not the dominant, analytics show that more than 50% of websites use PHP.
The day when PHP becomes a compiled language, C#,C, .NET, Python and all other languages will suffer hard :)

PHP is still and will continue (for a long time) to dominate the web. I just recently picked up Laravel and am more enthusiastic than ever for the future of PHP.

PHP is still very relevant, but in my opinion, it's always good to learn as many languages as possible. One of the plus sides to that is that with every language you learn, the next is likely to be easier. So, why not?
