I am using VPS hosting but in planning to move to a dedicated server, the problem is i don't know the dedicated server will be more faster than my current VPS or not. Is there a way to test and comparing the speed between them?

Your recommendations would be appreciated!

In most of case, your website will not be faster on a dedicated server than on a VPS. Because you will have more resources (CPU, RAM, Storage) but that doesn't mean you will use them. For example, on a server with 32GB RAM, Plesk Onyx with 10 websites use only 3GB of RAM. And if it will use the memory as cache, it will not have a real impact on your website loading speed.
The main difference between a VPS and a dedicated server, is you can create VPS on a dedicated server. So, choosing a dedicated server to have a dedicated amount of resources is a good choice, but creating your own VPS on your server is probably the better reason to buy a dedicated server.

Hosting Speed? dedicated server is useful. If you have a web application that needs CPU utilization. For general websites, adding more CPU and RAM does not do any significant improvement. As said displaying website does not have anything to do with CPU. Adding RAM and CPU cores does not make any changes with website loadtime.

If your website is slowing down due to number of concurrent users and visitors and your website uses scripts that take up CPU and RAM resources then you might consider moving to dedicated server.

Simply, website load time have nothing to do with server configuration, if you could add more details here like current server load, how many website are hosted, traffic, concurrent users and applications or scripts that are in use on current vps. That will help someone here suggest you something.

Look forward to your reply. Thanks.

We'd need specs.

You can always have a very fast VPS and a very slow server, so you could actually be downgrading.

It depends on the VPS you're on now and the Dedicated Server you're looking at. With that info we could give you a better idea of what you could expect as far as performance difference.

The provider also makes a difference as some VPS providers will oversell their server and give you great specs that don't work really well.

It has the difference between 300 users online and 30 users online on a website all the time?

Never think if having a VPS is faster than a dedicated server, at least at same specs.

If you are running simple word press or blogs, you can never see the changes so that you do not need to spend more money to get a dedicated server. but if you are running a website which has many hits or running high frameworks/themes, we recommend dedicated server, because it give all resources to your requirements only. The resources/specs of dedicated server will be depends upon requirements of your website.

If you have vps from any VPS provider, they sell VPS in the same node to other customers also, As our knowledge everybody showing vmem, vcpu and network which all are sharing with other customers also. It provide resources to the VPS which requests resources. We never see that anyone provides dedicated CPU for vps.

You can check the performance of dedicated server by checking the network speed(download/upload speed), HDD/SSD write or read speed. Memory can test by memory test which is available in all Linux or windows ISO and may tools available to check processors. Also check the RAM is latest DDR4 ECC and its frequency.
