You will get your EV SSL only if you have legit registered business, they will verify your business psychically/manually with all of your business docs signed by your gov, and once you are verified you will get your business name with green in any browser like this:

Which it mean your business is registered and verified.

I am wanting to buy EV SSL certification for a domain. I see comodo and namecheap are offering this service.

but my domain is being hosted at Godaddy so I can buy EV SSL certification of namecheap or comodo? or I should buy from Godaddy?

Please advice.

It doesn't matter where your domain/hosting is located/hosted, everyone is free to order SSLs and other things where it is cheaper so.... Go where is cheaper.

The Extended Validation SSL has the padlock and the green address bar in all major browsers. Identity verification process requires the applicant to prove exclusive rights to use a domain, confirm its legal, operational and physical existence of your company, and prove the entity has authorized the issuance of the Certificate.

Who will verify this? my SSL provider?

If I am a German or French but hosting websites and targeting audience in US then how the green address bar will appear.

My Company Name [US] or [DR] or [FR]

If I want [US], is that possible?

My business name need to registered at my country?

Yes your SSL provider will verify it.
Your company name/country will be where you have your company registered, if your company is registered in DE then it will appear DE. It is not neccessary that your business is only registered in your country. If you are German, and you registered your company in UK, browser green bar compny will appear at UK.

Interesting question, I also like this SSL feature
How much does it cost to have this green bar with my company name on it? Have you check any SSL providers with good pricing?

If I don't want to show country code in the green bar, it is allowed?
for instance, I only want to display the company name.

I think on EV SSL country code is a must, because customers need to know where your company are registered/located. Another one is because there might be two companies with same company name like i.e mycompany in DE and another one mycompany in ES etc and a country code is a must.
As per price depends, ssls.com a namecheap.com brand has great price, but you might do a research and maybe you will find something cheaper.

The price of EV certificate tends to be higher than domain validated or business validated cert. Strict validation process and Green bar feature makes its pricey, earlier one of my friend was looking for EV certificate and found cheapsslshop.com - the cheapest we could find after comparing many. They were very friendly and assisted us appropriately to configure the certificate.

Now if I answer to OP, You cannot get EV SSL for your blog as it is only available for businesses/govt/ngo. These all require to prove their legal existence.

You are exact, I asked a SSL supporter on Namecheap and here is which they confirmed.

Anastasia Sh.:
Regretfully, it is not possible to exclude the country code from the green bar. It is automatically fetched depending on which country the company is registered at.

EV SSL is not much useful for a blog. And you must be a legal entity to apply for EV SSL certificate. Coming to security point of view. DV and EV SSL certificates carry same level of encryption in most cases but depends on SSL provider.

Some providers claim warranty of some $100000 for EV SSL protected website. For a normal E-commerce websites that uses third party gateway like Paypal or stripe which does the transactions processing at the other end, you will not get any benefit from EV SSL.

EV SSL will be more apt for Banks, Financial Institutions and other websites, that carryout high volume sensitive information which needs to be protected. Paypal is one such website, that requires EV SSL for better security and protection. However, just by having EV SSL we cannot expect that a particular website is 100% safe.

For example, Godaddy uses EV SSL but failed to get proper security headers configured.. https://securityheaders.io/?q=https://in.godaddy.com/&followRedirects=on

so, EV SSL is useful, only if proper security measures are taken into consideration from technical point of view. As per blog, as @ron mentioned, you cannot apply for EV SSL as it is not applicable for you. If you need an SSL stick with DV SSL, more than sufficient in most cases. Hope this helps you.

From the technical and security point of view, it doesn't matter which SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) vendor and type of a certificate will be used, because mostly all are using the 256-Bit SSL Encryption. So the cheapest SSL like RapidSSL works exactly like an EV SSL.

Yes, for that point, it's better to setup properly Let's Encrypt to use a 384bits SSL Encryption with the latest security headers.
Can I check my site is using 256-Bit or 384-bit SSL?
More bits mean more secured?

You can use SSLLabs to check your SSL certificate encryption.
sslbits.png
but it will mean more secure only if it's used with the good protocols and security standards.
To check the security score (implementation of modern security standard with SSL) of a website, use observatory.

An Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate is a type of SSL certificate that provides the highest level of validation and security for websites. It is issued by a trusted third-party called a Certificate Authority (CA) and goes through a more rigorous validation process than other types of SSL certificates.

The process of issuing an EV SSL certificate includes a thorough check of the website owner's legal, physical, and operational existence. The CA verifies that the applicant is the rightful owner of the domain name, and that they have the exclusive right to use it. The CA also checks that the applicant's legal, physical, and operational existence and that they are a legitimate business.

When a user visits a website that has an EV SSL certificate, the web browser displays the name of the organization that owns the website in green, along with the padlock icon in the address bar. This provides a clear visual cue to users that the website is legitimate and can be trusted with sensitive information.

EV SSL certificates also include the standard SSL features such as encryption of data, protection against phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks and are ideal for e-commerce websites, financial institutions, government agencies, and any other website that requires a high level of trust and security.
