Who is the best free SSL provider?

I would use a free service for my websites but who are the best free SSL providers out there? any recommendations?

You have the choice between Letsencrypt and cloudflare, depending on your needs. I recommand you Cloudflare if you want to use their CDN services, but letsencrypt will be better if you need some advanced security settings (PCI compliance for example, to process credit cards).
You can also get a free ssl certificates from comodo

I have been using Lets encrypt for long time and no issues at all. Simple commands of installation and once you install you can run auto-ssl option in cpanel and can generate ssl for each every website on your server that simply fabulous.

I recommend cpanel provided Lets encrypt.(Easy and stable)

You could use any of it as I have used both of them it worked fine for me.
Lets Encrypt is free and is good at features too so I would personally recommend for it.

Another thumbs up for Let's Encrypt here I think they will become the standard in free SSL in the future.

I still can use both Letsencrypt and CDN from Cloudflare for my website without any issues?

Since more people here are recommending Letsencrypt hence I would give a try instead of using CDN of Cloudflare.

You can use letsencrypt SSL with the CDN from Cloudflare, or use directly the SSL from Cloudflare with their CDN.

Cloudfare SSL is good. But you can also go with the free SSL provided by your Hosting provider..

I would recommend you Lets Encrypt. It is far better when compared with cloudflare SSL. But you need to put some efforts when your host is not offering 1 click letsencrypt SSL, otherwise from setup point of view both are easy to do.

I will strongly put my vote for letsencrypt for better security. Also, you need to know that setting up cloudflare breaks CPanel, breaking in the sense the interface does not load properly. It was used to be like that, not sure if cloudflare people fixed it or not. But I left using them for good, if your host offers better performance it is more than sufficient to use letsencrypt on hosting.

Also, if you are on vps, you can install CPanel Auto SSL, which is powered by comodo. So its good too.

If you are looking for free ssl long term then I would recommend Cloudflare, as I have been using cloudflare for over 1 year. If you are looking for short term say 90 days then try free comodo ssl

In my choice let's encrypt is best , but there cpanel plugin in not free now.you may also choose cloudflare & comodo auto ssl.they are also good.

Let's Encrypt is a good way to go for beginners, Cloudflare is also a good thing when you're using their CDN anyway (the SSL they offer is by Comodo). What I'm suggesting instead, is PositiveSSL by Comodo, cause it's the best option overall. :smart:

Let's Encrypt pros: free, almost recognizable in every browser, pretty well known, there are multiple services that help with managing the certs.
Let'S Encrypt cons: expires after 90 days (you need to manually install a new certificate or have automatic update - some hosts have that in cPanel), some browsers still say that the sites with Let's Encrypt SSL's are not secure - BlackBerry for example.
Let's Encrypt tip: if you have automatic Let's Encrypt SSL installer in your cPanel or other control panel, be sure to use it, since it automatically updates the certificate once it expires. If you don't, use online services like SSL For Free - it gives you the certificate files that you use to upload the certificate to your server after confirming you domain. In addition to that, it sends you an e-mail when your certificate is about to expire, so you know when to get a new one.

Cloudflare pros: free, recognizable pretty much anywhere, automatically updated.
Cloudflare cons: You must use Cloudflare to get the certificate and keep using if you want automatic renewals, it's shared - when someone looks at the certificate you are using, they'll see a ton of other sites tied to the same certificate.
Cloudflare tip: you can download the certificate from your account, and use it without Cloudflare, if you like.

PositiveSSL pros: Recognizable pretty much anywhere, really cheap, well known SSL authority.
PositiveSSL cons: not free, you must update in manually.
