I think support is the most inportant thing in hosting business. you can have the best equipment but if you cannot provide basic but fast support the client will lost it.

Definitely good quality support, and good value for money on the plans.

So long as you're supporting your customers, they'll be happy and shouldn't leave.

- Fast and reliable servers
- Decent pricing (but too cheap and too expensive prices scare customers away)
- Fast support (Live chat is must have) with decent knowledge (presumably with also for example WP support included)
- Some kind of good control panel - cPanel for example with automatic script installer and automatic Let's Encrypt SSL installer
- Top nough security
- 24/7 monitoring against attacks, blacklisting etc
- Decent helpdesk
- Options to upgrade in the future (VPSs and dedicated servers)

That's about it.. :)

I believe most clients expect from their hosts to provide good technical support, as little downtime as possible, a high level of security, backups, not too overrated prices, a knowledge base and tutorials that cover a wide range of topics and problems. A good host should also be loyal and not have hidden fees for example.

Good hosting provider should have the below qualities -

1. Good hardware and servers - Your hosting provider should have good hardware and servers with good uptime.

2. Support team with technical knowledge - Hosting provider's support team should have good knowledge of technical terms.

3. Less response time with quality support - Support team should answer the queries in less time but should provide the exact solution. There is no point in just extending the thread and conversation.

4. Budget solution - Hosting provider should decide the cost depends on the today's age. Cost should not be excessive.

5. Sales and billing team - Hosting provider should have good sales and billing team to handle your account related activity.

6. Server security - There should be proper server security setup by hosting provider to avoid the hacking and attacks on server.

7. Backup Facility - There should be backup facility available at your hosting provider's end. Hosting provider should maintain the backup cycle.

To get a loyal customer base, web hosting providers should also be loyal to the customers. Quality(Service + Support) is another great issue in case of being a good provider.

As a user, I would tend to stick with my current hosting provider as long as they offer me the things below.

1. Competitive pricing. Prices need to be reasonable according to hardware specs.
2. Support team who are friendly and have technical know-how.
3. Fast and stable servers. Preferably as little downtime as possible.
4. Server backups for recovery of data when required.

Its best to have a clear plan of what your company wants to achieve. 24/7 support is a must have and reliable services with without any downtime.

fantastic proactive support

Without the above you don't have a company never mind a good company

Take care of the above and everything else will fall into place

Well, your service must offer security of the client. It should be open 24/7 or if you will have maintenance, you should notify your clients ahead of time. You should have a strong server pc that can handle multiple clients. Always check if everything is alright and the most important is to have BACKUPS! so that what ever might happen, you will have backups to restore.

I believe that a good hosting provider must be efficient and service-oriented. It must include services that provides customer support 24/7. Security is also a must for people to opt the hosting. Another thing I take into consideration when buying a web host is the price - it has to be reasonable.
