Just out of curiosity, what is the most powerful dedicated server you have ever seen on the net? when do we need to use that server an what it runs for?
Please share its specifications with a brief explanation why?

If you mean the most powerful dedicated server for sale, if you have the cash you can buy the very best but even then their is only so much power you can pack in to a single server.

Cloud a few hundred of them together with a combined 5000 cores and 5TB of ram and now we are talking. :)

This sort of server has it's place in any large business or government and would be used for anything that requires huge processing power.
Big Banks, mathematics research, physics modeling and simulations, code breaking. just a few examples of usage for a real power house setup.

Or you could just play World of warcraft on it :D

Most powerful would be the Tianhe-2, with i think thousands of Xeon processors. I don't know what kind of use you could get from that kind of machines though, unless your name is only 3 digits long and what you want is people's passwords.

For the average bare metal dedicated, Softlayer sell Quad Xeon E7-4820, and the RAM can be upgraded to 512gb. You can cram thousands upon thousands of shared hosting customers and hundreds of VPS on that kind of rig but if you ain't got 2 when it goes down you'll have a whole stadium screaming at you all at the same time.

most powerful in Intel space right now is Intel Xeon E7-8891v4 with 10 cpu cores @2.8Ghz to 3.5Ghz with 4x E7-8891v4 config you have 40 cpu cores or 80 cpu threads clocked at @2.80-3.5Ghz

or 8x E7-8891v4 config you have 80 cpu cores or 160 cpu threads clocked at @2.80-3.5Ghz

or Intel Xeon E5-2687W v4 with 12 cpu cores @3.0Ghz to 3.5Ghz so with 2x E5-2687W v4 config you have 24 cpu cores or 48 cpu threads clocked @3.0-3.5Ghz

Server Power depends on the high end CPU , RAM as well as Disks configurations -- No doubt .. However it should be optimized well enough to serve the hosted contents powerfully so it should have premium bandwidth and a powerful port too.

everyone looking for the servers which meet their requirements not the most powerful dedicated server. Most powerful dedicated server should be assembled with the high end CPU, ECC reg latest RAMs with high frequency, SSDs and more than 10gbps network speed, unlimited bandwidth. We seen that some Websites like advertisement websites, forum/news websites with huge number of users/viewers using the powerful servers to meet their requirements.

I was impressed by E5 Dual CPU server with maybe 16 cores. (I can't remember)

But speed was really very faster than my old E3 server.

E5 is most powerful for me. I don't know about others ;)
