I want to have some comparisons between Linux and Windows Hosting on these aspects:

Security
Which one is faster to host a website?
Which OS software is better?
Pricing
Which one is easy or difficult to control?
Which one can run many hosting control panels?
Stable

I am using Linux hosting but if Windows is better, why don't I give it a go.

Can you share your advice?

Linux is better on all aspects if you are not using ASP.net. Windows Hosting is often use because customers are not in love with SSH configuration, but it's not really easier with Windows, and performances are not the same. Linux is lightweight, stable and secure. There are 10+ control panels available for linux, and only few for Windows ( With windows, you have to go with Plesk to have a good control panel).

As Virtubox said if you don't need ASP then not really much point, Linux wins on every comparison.
The only down side to Linux is the management, but with WHM things are easy to learn.

Windows hosting is useful if one has a website in dot net frame or if there are applications that work well on Windows server. The speed of server depends on the specification of the server. Both Linux and Windows web hosting plans are easy to use. But it is has been observed that there is ample no: of Linux tech in comparison to the Windows tech.

Unless you are planning to use ASP.net as mentioned above , it is pointless to go with windows due to the fact that all aspects you mentioned including speed and security are much better in Linux.

Not to mention that Linux is free while windows is very expensive.
Those factors are important for me, I just want to know why speed and security in Linux are better than Windows

The speed of server depends on the specification of the server.
Are you sure this? Luxin Host said above speed of Linux is better than Windows

RDO Servers

Windows vs Linux gets brought up a lot, and the most common answer is that "Linux is better". However, rarely are these claims backed up.

Linux is more secure? How? How can you quantify that?
Linux is faster? How? Let me see proof?

For example, a study by UpGuard found IIS vs Apache speed to be equal, and security to be better on Windows.

Now I'm not saying that "Windows is better", but I also disagree with the statement "Linux is better". A lot of it depends on what you need, what your doing, and your knowledge level.

No server is the best. No OS is the best. No (fill in the blank) is the best.

There is only what is best for you.

Nothing is secured and nothing is best . Every OS has back holes and which is why we see servers are hacked.

Its the server admin who managed the server with security , hardening , optimization , management , maint. etc... which keeps the server secured , alive and running smoothly.

Purpose wise you may need to choose between Operating systems however thats a different part again.
