Hi,
Shared Hosting : An Account to manage single or multiple domains
Reseller Hosting : An Account to create, manage multiple shared hosting accounts.

If I upgrade to reseller hosting, that will improve performance and increasing limitations on my shared account?
In case of upgrading to reseller hosting at same provider, That depends on how your hosting provider built Shared hosting and reseller hosting packages.

case 1 : You are upgrading to reseller hosting and creating one shared hosting account to manage your respective domain.
If your provider has same features and limitations for directly created shared hosting accounts and shared hosting accounts created via reseller hosting; You are going to have same limits.

If you are facing resource limitation issue, please clarify.
In most cases, moving to own virtual machine is an option.

Why don't you clarify more details, like what exact scenario of your problem. That will help us provide accurate answer.

In shared hosting, you will get cpanel access in which customer upload is website data and in reseller Hosting, customer will get WHM access in which he can create cpanel account and sale those cpanel accounts to his customers.

Cpanel is end user panel through which customer can manage his website hosting service, email accounts, databases, ftp users, websites stats.

Shared hosting is mainly for single user where the client does not wish to sell web hosting to other clients.
Reseller hosting is a package in which the user can resell the disk space and bandwidth he has purchase , by creating separate accounts for his customer which they can individually access by the login details the Reseller user providers.

With reseller you just get an added feature through which you can create multiple cPanel accounts from WHM. Performance wise there should not be any difference as both are nothing but shared accounts with different features. You should continue to host your website under shared hosting account because the price would be lower than reseller and performance would be same. If you are planning to host any client websites where you want to give him cPanel access then you should consider reseller hosting service.

A shared hosting account allows you to host 1 or multiple websites under 1 account, Reseller allows you to create accounts for each domain you or your customers want to host which has many security and performance benefits. Upgrading to a reseller should give you better performance but this all depends on if the server you are on is overloaded or not and the operating system used by the host, but yes it should out perform a shared plan.

Above all if you have multiple sites it's worth upgrading simply for the increased security.

In shared hosting the resources of the server are shared by many clients. It is the most economical regarding costing when compared to Reseller, VPS and dedicated servers. Comparing to an example in real life shared hosting is like travelling in a public bus instead of a private vehicle. It more economical for users but it may take more time for travelling as there are many halts and it might get crowded at times

In Reseller one can resell hosting to others by creating small hosting packages and in turn, earn a profit. Reseller hosting is a kind of shared hosting. Comparing the example in real life Reseller hosting can be compared to retail outlets and small shopkeepers who purchase goods in bulk from manufacturers or wholesalers and sell them for a profit.

Hello

A reseller account will not allow you to have more resources, but you can create cPanel accounts and web hosting packages as you want.

We are currently working on our VPS range, we want to offer the best. But as they say maybe moving to a VPS solve their problems

I have a shared hosting account that can host upto 10 domains. I want to get a reseller hosting account and my hosting provider has a reseller hosting package. For yhe price of $29 per month, I can get a reseller hosting with 25 accounts. Currently, I am paying $78 for shared hosting.
Since I am interested in becoming reseller hosting provider, I also wanted to know the basic difference between these two.
Now I know shared hosting is an hosting account where you manage one of more domains, and reseller hosting account is a hosting where you have numerous shared hosting account. Reseller is basically reselling shared hosting accounts.

Shared hosting -

In shared hosting service, you have the single cPanel to manage everything. You can host addon or parked domains under it but those will share the same cPanel.

You will not have the root access to server in the shared hosting service. You will have limited privileges, disk space, bandwidth and inode allocated. As everything will be shared on the server, you will might face the site speed loading issue. Shared hosting server, resources are shared between the number of accounts that is the main drawback.

Reseller Hosting

In reseller hosting service, you can host the multiple cPanel accounts. You can allocate he disk space, resources, bandwidth , inode as per your requirement. You can create and manage them in your own way. Reseller services are hosted on shared hosting server only but you have more privileges when you have reseller hosting plan.

You can sale the hosting service on the reseller service. That is your customer thinks that you are having your own hosting server from where you are managing them. You can create the hosting packages as per your need.

Hope this will help you. :)

The main difference is that with shared hosting you get one control panel where you can manage your websites. This is perfect for home users or small business.
However, with reseller hosting you get a bulk amount of disk space and bandwidth that you can resell on to your customers. You create plans and then you create accounts for your clients so that you become like a web hosting company. Many people start off like this and expand from there.
Reseller hosting is perfect for designers for example or anyone who has multiple clients or multiple websites and they want to earn some extra recurring revenues.
