Hello friend,

I would advise you try buying it again from the same provider you registered it with on the first place.. as sometime although the domain name may be expired it may actually not be available for you to purchase it again with another provider until sometime has passed.

Best of luck!!

Do you mean your own domain, or other domains that are just expired? There are some tools like freshdrop that lists just expired domains, and some other more private tools (usually mailing list based) that inform you when a new domain is expired.

You will have to try a drop catch domain registration service if its premium or keyword name which most of them might want, such services are offering by many companies if you search the net.

If it's your own domain name then the registrar should give you plenty of notice that it's expiring - and once it has expired they give you a cool off period which still allows you to buy it after a certain period of time. If however it's not originally your domain I would go by what others have said above.

With most domains a grace period exists which during this time the domain can still be claimed back by the previous owner. You will need to look into the exact expiration rules with the TLD providers. Many domain registrars will monitor a domain for you with their automated systems and buy it the second it is available and complete the transfer once the grace period has expired.

They often charge for this service and with most you only pay a fee if the purchase was successful, but it's a small price to pay to have the best chance at getting a domain you really want.

If you really want to purchase an expired domain name then try to buy it through the auctions. Most domain service provider has domain auction partners then you can first find out who the domain name is used before expired. You can check all information by the WHOIS tools.

recommend if its redemptionPeriod or pendingDelete you should back order the domain from the provider that currently holds the domain
in most cases provider that holds the domain gets the domain first. agree as well with whats listed above hope this helps you

I've personally used DropCatch.com to pick up an expiring domain - they have a pretty affordable price for their service and the people behind it have invested heavily in creating a whole heap of ICANN accredited registrars, so that they can win a lot of domain drops.

I usually search for expired domains on justdropped and expireddomain, they're both good and help me much with their strong filters, ex: traffic, extension, keyword in domain, ...
