Straight from google my friend.

A bare metal environment is a computer system or network in which a virtual machine is installed directly on hardware rather than within the host operating system (OS). The term "bare metal" refers to a hard disk, the usual medium on which a computer's OS is installed.

Basically think of it like your just using a single pc but in fact there are more than 1 using that PC but you cant see them cause your have direct access to the physical resourceful of the host machine instead of waiting for the Host OS to assign you a slot to process that information in a queue .

A bare metal server is all about raw hardware. Any OSs (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc) and virtualization hypervisors directly installed and executed from the hardware. I don't know what did you mean buy regular server. Bare mental server is regular server (HP, Dell, customer made, etc servers).

It is going to be very hard to explain you, what I meant.

I know you are trying to learn but I think you should focus on one thing at a time. Everyone's brain is different.

Google, Google, Google........:)

It could be named by the provider to make figure out a special feature on their hosting server, I have seen this term from a hosting provider but could not remember where it came from.

Google sometimes could not solve any thing if there is no answer from websites or answered at somewhere.

That is a good explanation that I could find:

A 'bare-metal server' is a descriptive term for a computer server to distinguish it from modern forms of virtualization and cloud hosting. It is defined as a 'single-tenant physical server'.

Bare-metal servers have a single 'tenant'. They are not shared between customers. Each server may run any amount of work for the customer, or may have multiple simultaneous users, but they are dedicated entirely to the customer who is renting them. Unlike many servers in a data centre, they are not being shared between multiple customers.

Bare-metal servers are 'physical' servers. Each logical server offered for rental is a distinct physical piece of hardware that is a functional server on its own. They are not virtual servers running in multiple on shared hardware.

Awesome description and information!

This makes it easy for someone new to understand the term. I think the topic starter will like the answer also.

I saw that but wasn't quite sure and thought I would get a more clear answer here. Thanks

Basically think of it like your just using a single pc but in fact there are more than 1 using that PC but you cant see them cause your have direct access to the physical resourceful of the host machine instead of waiting for the Host OS to assign you a slot to process that information in a queue .
So it is an actual separate machine then?

A bare metal server is all about raw hardware. Any OSs (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc) and virtualization hypervisors directly installed and executed from the hardware. I don't know what did you mean buy regular server. Bare mental server is regular server (HP, Dell, customer made, etc servers).
I was meaning that I see them call a dedicated server just a server and not use the term "bare metal" so I wasn't sure if they were the same thing or not.

It could be named by the provider to make figure out a special feature on their hosting server, I have seen this term from a hosting provider but could not remember where it came from.
So do some hosting providers just throw this term out there to make you think it's better?

A 'bare-metal server' is a descriptive term for a computer server to distinguish it from modern forms of virtualization and cloud hosting. It is defined as a 'single-tenant physical server'.

Bare-metal servers have a single 'tenant'. They are not shared between customers. So then a VPS hosting service is several VPS's on a "bare metal" server?
