First of all, I had permission from FWH to post this, so that you know. :eek:k:

Forums.Hosting - A Web Hosting Forum for consumers and Web Hosting related businesses

I explained the reasons for creating the forum at https://forums.hosting/forum/advert...ons-and-feedback/46-welcome-to-forums-hosting

I hope you like it!? Any feedback (good or bad) would be much appreciated! The feedback may also be used here at FWH, too, so it's all good.

I was wanting to create a Web Hosting Forum for a long time but never got round to it. Glad I did it now. If it does well, great! If not, at least I will not regret not ever getting round to it to know whether it was worth it or not. :good:

Best regards,
Chris

I visited your forum, it is so new, less posts and members, you can need more efforts to grow it to become one of top hosting forums like forumweb.hosting
The design looks good but there are may things need to be optimized on your web pages.

Did you have any ideas to grow your forum? if not, its so hard to grow a forum from scratch.

Yes, I haven't emailed the members from freewebhostingdir.com yet to explain the move. That should at least get a few signups. ;)

You were lucky to get that domain name.

Clean design but it looks so bright to me. Title of the homepage and URL structure have many words are repeating many times. I would suggest you to care on that and the logo also need to be improved.

The logo was just a basic one to start with. It isn't the worst logo I've ever seen and so I'm in no rush to change it. But I agree with you in that it could be improved. Thanks.

You are a hosting provider yourself, so how can we be sure that you'll be unbiased and neutral in all your actions on your forum?

What if a someone requests hosting and the two best choices are your hosting services and your competitor's? :)

The truth is, any site owner can do such things in a way (behind the scenes) regardless of whether they run a business in the same industry or not. To be honest, I just set it up and would rather let someone else run it who does not even run a web hosting business and would be non-biased whatsoever. Still early days.

Then they'd get "There is no best host. There is only the one that's best for you". ;)

Just to clarify, I never created Forums.Hosting to rank better than ForumWeb.Hosting -- I just found there aren't many decent web hosting forums about except WHT, HD, FWH and now FH, all the rest are quite spammy or too over the top. Forums.Hosting is just another easy to use web hosting forum where you can advertise your Web Hosting Offers. It will never be on the same level as FWH. FWH already has a large memberbase and so "can't touch this". :icon_mrgreen:

I mainly promote WHT, HD, FWH, and now FH like at https://www.hostxnow.com/forums

I like those new to hosting to find the best offers and to help the smaller-medium businesses to gain more Sales rather than let EIG companies have all the cake. Let's face it, the smaller-medium providers can offer far better (personal) support than the big EIG providers can, and I want more and more people to be aware of this. Forums like ForumWeb.Hosting and Forums.Hosting can help with this.

Update:

I've added all the forums that I think should be there and left any out that I thought were unnecessary. Too many forums have way too many categories which are not easy to navigate on mobile devices, and sometimes not even on large desktop screens. I believe that it puts many off when trying to decide where to post, because when there are too many options, and they don't want to post in the wrong section, they can get put off from signup up altogether. I prefer WHT design, but I think it has way too many forums, too specific if you like.

I think I got the balance right? Don't worry too much about design because I'm just using the default vBulletin 5 template with a custom logo at the moment. The design could be changed in the future, same with the logo. I'm also yet to see if the the layout can be improved!? Just checking if everyone is happy with the forum categories that are there? Any others that you think should be there or existing ones that could be updated or removed?

The only forums that can be added are more forums to Hosting Forums as there is only Web Hosting at the moment.

In time I will add others like

Hosting Forums - Web Hosting
Hosting Forums - Reseller Hosting
Hosting Forums - VPS Hosting
Hosting Forums - Dedicated Hosting

But I think while the forum is new I'd say just let all discussion go in Web Hosting, and the threads can be moved at a later date.

Once happy, I'll let old site members know about the new forum which should help with forum activity a lot, and then at a later date will probably create a better theme and logo.

I've only created a few random tests post in the meantime like "Hi Is anyone there?" :great:

You don't need to have permission from Forum Web Hosting to post this, because our forum welcomes all forum owners if they come here and promoting their hosting forums on this forum. This place is for learn, sharing everything about web hosting, also promoting web hosting plans from web hosting companies...we will welcome all and will not have any problems with that...just make sure that you will post into right forums :D

I hope you like it!? Any feedback (good or bad) would be much appreciated! The feedback may also be used here at FWH, too, so it's all good.
I like it, but seem you are having so many things need to be improved there, or tons of works ahead waiting for you :)

I would suggest to improve your forum

- A better logo
- Useful posts/threads
- A better forum theme, you can make changes to make it better.
- Promotions, SEO to increase members/posts for your forum.
- Creating social network account for your forum and starting promotion.
- Video marketing for your forum.
- Adding Latest posts under Latest Topics
....

I like it :D has a kinda old school 1990's feel to it.

:D LJSHost is wanting to suggest you improve your forum theme, I think so.

I like this question!

This answer is common, you didn't answer NickR's question completely. :D

You should rethink this, if you still keep this thought then you will never succeed with your forum.

You Can Win if You Want - Modern Talking
Try your best, you will find out many ways in marketing, SEO...to increase traffic for your site, since i have built this forum, I discovered many ways to grow a forum using SEO and marketing but for any reasons I could not apply all of them because its conditions or my time.

Cheers, :drinks:

Very good advice, fwh.

This answer is common, you didn't answer NickR's question completely.
Only offers are allowed on the forum, not requests. Everyone would have to follow the same rules including Admins and Mods, e.g., you could only talk about your own products & services if someone requests such information, like at WHT who rules are fair and make sense, otherwise everyone will just spam their services 24/7 which makes the forum spammy and open to abuse.

Being the owner of the forum, under HostXNow account, I'd just say contact us if you have any questions. The forum would be for everyone else. My reward for putting time into the forum which would benefit everyone else is I could get a little income from the advertising (in the long run), though I wouldn't offer sticky threads or advertising space for several months to let the traffic pick up first.

HostXNow is primary; the forum would be secondary to me. I would like someone else to help run it as I mentioned before.

Thanks.

Make a face for your forum like its a brand! it looks a bit bland yet but soon it will take off and making a face like this particular forum itself did will be a good idea. also +1 to supporting small business rather than EIG companies

On my observation, your website is neat and nice. You have a well arrange content in your page and the texts are readable. I find it simple but I enjoy browsing for it. I find it cute because of the design. Added to it, your website is easy to navigate and manipulate. Information are easy to find. That makes your website awesome. The logo is fine so no worries. Overall, it's a good job.
