I checked hostfav.com out and it took me around 6 to 7 seconds to completely load your website in the first time.
That's why you should consider using SSD for your websites.

Also checking with pingdom tool.

Our web site has Live Chat integrated. Which is causing performance.
Check our result without livechat.

SSD is great but costs quite a lot comparing to HDD so it always depends on the websites size and the budget you're willing to pay.

SSD will be better choice of course. But, to keep cost less, if your usage is not Disk I/O Hungry, then SATA HDD is good to go !

The choice used to be SSD for speed and HDD for space. However, with the advances in technology and the falling prices of SSD due to economies of scale, the price differential between SSD and HDD is soon going to be inconsequential.

On top of that, you can now use CDN services to speed up the delivery of your site to your viewers, which makes it quite irrelevant where your original files reside.

Taking these two factors together, your choice should be based on the reliability of the host's service, rather than on the actual hardware used to store your data. SSD or HDD makes no difference if your host does not maintain his hardware in good condition. A failed SSD is just as bad as a failed HDD.

hi,

For the majority of use, it's not gonna matter, but for people who actually needs fast I/O it's gonna matter a lot.
I've been with Vpswebserver before they had HDD hosts and it would take 40 seconds to a minute to reboot, but after their SSD upgrade it takes 15 seconds now.

regards....

It will really come down on your preference between price and performance. HDD is a lot cheaper while SSD performs better in terms of speed. I think there is a system that uses both HDD and SSD at the same time.

A core benefit of using a VPS with SSD is its speed factor & dependability. If you plan on running high I/O applications and databases, SSD is your best bet.

You can work out a combo of both SSD and HDD if cost is an issue. Use HDD for backing up your file and storing content with large sizes while you run your app on SDD.

Hope, I'm clear enough?

hi,

SSD also known as a solid state disk or electronic disk, is a data storage device, which utilizes integrated circuit assemblies to store data persistently.

SSDs are more resistant to physical shock, perform more input/output operations per second, have lower access time, and less latency than HDDs.

Hello,

SSD deliver greater and faster performance but costs more. While HDD is way cheaper, but it still can serve some purpose even nowadays. It could be a great option for a cheaper backup server.

SSD is comparatively much more reliable and faster the HDD. SSD is solid state and data transfer is not bound to the rotation so the disk like in HDD therefore, it is much more faster than a conventional HDD.
