Hi everyone,

Can you guys tell me any real benefits of using a premium DNS service? I really don't understand what is Premium DNS while viewing Premium DNS services that offering on any websites. Maybe need someone explain me the difference between a Standard DNS and a Premium DNS.

Thanks in advance
Max

Hi Max,

Premium DNS can mean many things but I would say typically this means the DNS servers serving your domains are based in multiple geographical locations to provide redundancy in the event of a failure.

Premium DNS are like almost all services extensions, a good way to pay more for nothing.
Like SSL Certificates, several Providers offer a Premium DNS but Cloudflare do better for free : http://www.dnsperf.com

Good morning

Dns premium, is the best investment

Accelerate your website anywhere in the world and generate high redundancy to your website

I recommend dnsmadeeasy the first worldwide to an excellent price

depends. For my important sites i use dnsmadeeasy.com for uptime and native DDOS protection at their network so I know that DDOS attacks against their network won't likely result in downtime for my dns and they're very fast dns wise. See benchmark speed test for various dns providers at http://www.solvedns.com/dns-comparison/

I also use cloudflare's free dns for hobby or start up sites first. Only one site of mine uses Amazon Route53 as i need to use geo latency and dns for a 32 cluster VPS setup which has server backend origins London, Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, New Jersey, New York, Washington DC, Singapore. It's relatively cheap on Amazon Route53 than on dnsmadeeasy though they have a cheaper sibling service i am testing for geo proximity based dns at constellix.com :)

Premium DNS helps manage things much better. For instance, with CloudFlare you also get additional features and DDoS protection which is an added bonus.
