Term "Unlimited" is a marketing gimmick. What unlimited really means , host will not put any limit for normal user. Here normal user is the limit. You have to look at the terms of the provider & fair usage policy
And myths keep rolling in. What it "really means" is a 100 mb Wordpress site with bad plugins can get suspended on an 3GB plan just as fast as on an unlimited plan. Both types of hosting plans operate in the context of a shared hosting environment. Its just that one type eliminates the need for quota-based multi-tiered hosting plans.

The real gimmick is saying there is a gimmick

Unlimited hosts servers are sometimes over crowded.
And "limited" hosts never are. Ridiculous! To illustrate how ridiculous that is, suppose you have 500 sites on your server with standard hosting plans. Everything is running fine. Now, change the plans to unlimited. Does the server all of a sudden start behaving differently? No. Servers are not capable of reading hosting plans. Overcrowding comes from the number of sites provisioned on a server, not from the bullet points on a hosting plan.

It makes no difference if those 500 sites were provisioned under an unlimited plan or a limited plan. Server performance will be the same for either scenario. To claim otherwise is silly.

I am not saying limited host never over crowded bust most of the time unlimited host becomes over crowded If they don't maintain it properly. In 2nd point you have said it right, as unlimited host don't offer limitation so there is a chance of being abused. In above post I have mentioned bestwebhosting.co.uk name. There servers were good, they also offers same unlimited hosting, but at some point they become worse for the same customer. They allowed 5000 website(not sure it's account or website) on the same server.I will update the link when I find the link.
Thanks for reading

The truth is exactly the same for both types of hosts. Maintenance, proper or improper, is exactly the same. A 1 GB, 3GB or XGB site provisioned with a limited plan is not different than one provisioned from an unlimited plan. Why are you making a distinction, other than to smear unlimited hosts by suggesting there is a difference?
