The base is SquirrelMail. The skin is EnigniaMail and the customisations are plugins and hacks I've written over the last 15 years. I literally could not function without it. It organises my life.

It uses SpamAssassin but it's a lot more complex than a simple plugin as it's a custom SA install with a lot of dependencies.

RoundCube is for users who need a user friendly web interface with some additional features available. I prefer it.

Myself, I never use these email accounts with web hosting much. In fact, very rarely, maybe once a year or so I might check SquirrelMail.

I like squirrelmail, easy loading and basic interface but seem Roundcube is better because it has drag-&-drop message management and full support for MIME and HTML messages.
Right, I wouldn't be concerned as much with the looks - but rather the ability. I mean, HTML messages could be an important thing for businesses to have and the fact the others don't have it is a serious liability.

I use squirrelMail. The reason why is because its less to load and its fast to get straight to your mail no extra stuff going on and chewing up bandwidth.
OK, here is a another testimonial. Yes, speed is important and SquirrelMail apparently is the top one. However, though, I don't think that's as important as the html stuff. Do you guys/gals?

I usually recommend Roundcube to my friends. The reason is mainly due to it's appearance and easy-to-use functions.
While Squirrelmail is kind of similar, I find that Roundcube is more user-friendly.

Horde is slightly complex looking but offers more features such as calendar, task list, notebook, address book, and more.
The question would be whether you require Horde's extra features.
