Are there people here using Scaleway or OVH VPS, can you share me your advice on these packages?

Scaleway
Starter VC1L
€9.99/month
6 x86 64bit Cores
8GB Memory
200GB SSD Disk
200Mbit/s Unmetered bandwidth

OVH
VPS SSD 3
OpenStack KVM
2 vCores
2.4 GHz
8 GB RAM
40 GB SSD
Local RAID 10
$13.49/month

I can pick a VPS from one of 2 these plans and need a sysadmin to setup somethings for me but I don't know which plan is better, speed, support, price and CPUs, RAM..etc

Thanks!
Philippe

I never use Scaleway thus I don't have any reviews about this hosting provider.
but I used OVH, its service is good and DDOS protection is a plus.

I would recommend trying OVH first, if you don't satisfy with their services, you can choose Scaleway later.

Scaleway beat the ovh vps in any case and in support too, as you can see ovh provides 40GB ssd and 100Mbps speed and 2 vcpu cores, while scaleway offer 200GB and 200Mbps and 6 vcpu cores, so there is really a big difference between those two.

What cases you consider Scaleway is better than OVH? hosting specs, support, uptime, speed or some thing else?
I read more good feedback about OVH on this forum but not ever heard of Scaleway, this can make me change my mind.

Scaleway is a brand of online.net, there is nothing wrong with both of them both French companies and good too. But compared to mentioned configs, scaleway beat it.

I have never used Scaleway, heard it for first time from now, but let me tell you about some good OVH Features:
DDoS Protection
99% Uptime
OVH is trusted.

I have used scaleway for more than 4 months, there service is good. I have never seen downtime. Have received good site speed. Performance also good.I have a free support plan.Support ticket answered in 15 min. But still support is not very good. If you can manage your server.Go for scaleway.

Price are cheap, but there is no RAID, so you can loose all your data if a disk fail, and performance are not good at all with Atom CPU.

Here the benchmark of Scaleway C2S :

Scaleway showed better performance in VPS benchmarks when compared to OVH. However, I have heard good things for both companies.
There's no wrong choice here to be honest. OVH is safer because you can lose all your data with Scaleway due to RAID usage.

I agree with some other people. I got much better performance results from Scaleway than OVH. They're both not bad, but I've had terrible experience with OVH support.

Here my benchmark done few minutes ago :

VPS with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Command used :

Code:

As french consumer:
OVH have a better DDOS protection.
But online.net is cheaper.

Both are not design for the same use. OVH VPS are design to run without any scalability while scaleway was build in order to be able to up cloud server with a powerfull api

hi,

You should use OVH. Scaleway/Online support is so rude and their network is not good.
