From the last two months I have been finding a reliable hosting provider for my website. I was totally confused about to choose hosting provider and ended up with Cloudways Managed Hosting They Migrated My website freely with 30% discount due to Christmas. But now I am curious to know more about Managed Hosting What are the pros and cons of it.

Managed hosting only really applies to a VPS, their are no cons to it apart from the price.

If you have purchased a shared hosting plan this will always be fully managed but some providers offer WordPress management services included with the plan etc
A lot of firms use the "Managed" buzz word as a sales and marketing technique but it's hard to say what is managed about the product without knowing the specific technical details of the plan and what they manage for you.

If you are not comfortable managing your own website, then I would say there is no Con other than possibly leaving your website security and management in the wrong hands. If you are comfortable managing your own website, the only con that I can think of is paying extra for something you can probably do on your own.

"Managed" hosting has very different meanings to different hosts. What are the specifics on their website? Do they tell you what the managed part entails?

I would think managed means, you would never have to login to cPanel to do anything, they would do everything for you, like create email accounts, install software, ssl etc. when you request.

Fully managed, when getting a vps/dedicated/hybrid server means the host supplying the server is in charge of keeping the server secure, installing software eg. WHM/cPanel etc.

No cons just don't let them con you out of situations they're supposed to handle for you. Managed can mean two things one meaning you get cPanel or some sort of GUI pre installed on the server or two full managed as in they managed all situations proactive and reactive on the server.

"Managed", "Semi-Managed" and "Fully Managed" mean different things to different providers. You'd need to check what exactly they mean by "managed" by asking them directly as other members have pointed out.

Anyhow, glad you are happy with them. If anything changes, let us know.

All the best.
