I just checked the whois of my website here whois.domaintools.com and i realized that there is some information is shown and I don't like my info is revealed.
How can I remove that? it is possible to do that from my domain manager? I have serveral domains at Godaddy, Name and Namecheap
Thanks

You can purchase the identity protection from them that should hide your personal information, but it will still show a cache of what you have now before you change anything.

I'm sure you are aware of this, but make sure if you do want to hide this info, that you purchase privacy protection, and don't supply false whois info as this can and eventually will lead to domain suspention and/or seizure. On that note, happy holidays! :eek:k:

Most domain registrars and web hosting providers offer privacy protection as a free add-on while registering the domain. Some providers have the option to enable WHOIS Privacy even after registration is complete, while others you must contact support and pay for the service if its not free by default.

All of the registrars you list can do that for you but it is an addon to your domain and costs a yearly fee to enable, it is not something you can do for free.

As many have mentioned you pay a few £/$ to remove it, but keep in mind that most businesses are put off by other businesses who hide behind private whois. So if your site makes sales and there is no reason to cover up the information, then I don't recommend hiding it because you'll lose sales.

You would have to pay for it. Domain registrars usually provide "private domain information" packages for one low fee a month.

Set your domain to Private with your registar, it'll take approx. a few hours usually to propagate change, depending on when they run and update.

I think if you want to hide your real information, you should buy domain privacy from your domain registrar, almost registrars have this option when you buy, or you can use your fake info, however this way is not recommended because it have high risk of losing in the future.

Good luck to you,

Well, it's been said multiple times already, but yes, you would have to purchase privacy protection to hide that information.
