It looks like Vultr/DigitalOcean/Linode all follow somewhat similar features and pricing, and all are pretty stable and professional. But I want to try a new one or even better than them. Are their any other companies you would recommend to this list that has similar pricing, features, location, and professional?

I believe Amazon (AWS) is now doing traditional VPS - called Lightsail. Pricing starts at $5.

$5 for a VPS from Amazon, that is quite good. I haven't heard of this service, did they start this service recently?

For lower spec VPS, I prefer OVH SSD VPS range, especially as it includes better DDoS protection than the others you mentioned do. Protection from attacks is very important these days.

I'm also using a VPS from OVH, its pricing and features are good but loading speed is thing you need to improve if you don't want your website load slowly.
I heard of DDoS protection from OVH but have not go a chance to test it or see it if works.

asmallorange and ramnode are also good names to be added to list after OVH which is equally a big company as DO & Linode.

You should select VPS with dedicated RAM at ramnode if you don't wnat to have problems after your site grows with huge traffic.
I have not used asmallorange before but will have a look.

You should also check out the VSNX line of companies if you are interested in traditional VPS's. BlueVM, Chicago VPS, and Hudson Valley Host to name a few.

I did not get luck as you when choosing a droplet under $20/ month, it's pretty slow for my websites.
What plan have you use from Digital Ocean?

Agreed. I have found DigitalOcean to have the worst performance out of DO, Linode, and Vultr. I'm posted a review of the 3 over on WHT 6 months back or so (not sure if I am allowed to link so I won't) and in my experience Linode came out on top followed by Vultr.

Yes, Lightsail (not to be confused with EC2) was introduced 30th of November 2016.

https://aws.amazon.com/

Amazon Web Services and the EC2 Instances (VPS) have been around since 2006. Their pricing model is very complex and I wouldn't recommend it for smaller or even medium sized businesses. They are more of an enterprise platform
Shorty was referring to Amazon Lightsail, which is a tradtional VPS.

The Lightsail specs are wack! There are plenty of unmanaged providers around who offer much larger specs and for better pricing too. Amazon don't want to miss out on anything do they! :)

Personally I prefer VPS of small company instead of Linode/OVH, etc because of they care about customer.

You can try OVH but still I recommended you to go with small hosting company.

Why wouldn't it be good for smaller and medium sized businesses? Do they have some hidden costs?

Only a couple months then. I guess that's why I hadn't seen anything on it. Amazon seems to be trying to get their hands into just about everything they can think of.

There are quite a few companies out there providing the same service however, I personally would go for AWS or LightSail if it wasn't for any of the above mentioned service providers.

There are number of new provider who have relatively good server and best support. AWS support is the thing which matters. They provide paid support. If you are tech savvy, then you can think of it, but I do not like the support provided by them against the pricing.
