Hello,

I am currently in the process of building a web hosting website on a dedicated server in the US. I want to provide my customers with the best of the best.

So far, I offer both post2host and paid Shared, Reseller, Master Reseller and Alpha Reseller hosting. My prices range from $2.99 to $9.99/month.

What do you look for in a quality web host? What kind of services do you need? How about support, i.e. live chat, tickets,... Which do you prefer?

Your pricing is good if you are offering that for shareing hosting packages.

For me, I would pick a web hosting company if they are having good support to customers and the second thing is loading speed for my site, I need fast hosting which will help my site improve SEO and more convenient for my visitors.

The prices are for all of my plans, shared starting at $2.99 and Alpha starting at $9.99

My servers are pretty fast. What kind of support platform do you prefer? (Live chat, tickets, etc)

We offer support via E-Mail, Ticket, Line Chat & Phone. 99.9% of our clients rather open a ticket or submit an e-mail then call us. Our live chat option is relatively new so making sure staff is on there is a little harder. We do get many phone calls for new services (IE Sales) but most if not all technical support requests come in via e-mail or ticket.

If I am not wrong then this is exact for a customer needs to contact their hosting providers. Normally I'm often using live chat to ask about web hosting services before purchasing one. But for technical support, I prefer using email or support tickets to ask hosting problems because it can store information that I asked and get answered.

Support is always important as well as uptime, we want google to keep an eye on the speed of the site,it matters in SEO.

People want reliable and affordable web hosting with excellent support when it is needed. Choosing suitable hardware/network and a very good support team helps you provide an excellent service.

Customers love quick response times to support tickets and live chat.

From a business perspective, I would recommend scrapping the Maste/Alpha Reseller plans as you will only be opening yourself up to all kinds of trouble. Shared/Reseller and the VPS when you get there (for those that want to sell to thier own reseller clients).

I would suggest considering the following points while choosing the web host.

1. The age of the hosting company.
2. The server specs.
3. Network uptime report of the company.
4. Customer reviews
5. Datacenter where the company's servers are co-located.

Instead of looking for cheap price, look for reputation of the hosting provider.

These days there are many popular web hosts that make this market very competitive. "Low Prices" is the most important factor for attracting new customers for unpopular services like yours. "Speed" and "Customer services" are the most important factors for keeping your current customers.

I look for super-fast hosting (for SEs and visitors), at least 99.9% guaranteed uptime, online chat and phone support (with a good rep.), and unlimited hosting, at a good price. I'm willing to pay up to $9.99 per month for all that.

A native English speaking customer support team is a big plus for me. I can easily see whether I got a copy-paste response or not. I find 24/7 livechat also important because I always know they can assist me or at least hear me out at any time. Makes the relationship that more valuable.

To me the most important thing that I look for in a host is the quality of their support/service. Having poor quality support/service is the last thing that I want if their is an issue that I have that needs quick and quality support/service.

I have had support/service at both ends of the spectrum, from awesome to horrible. I left horrible a couple years ago and hope that we never meet again! ;)

For unmanaged VPS or hosting services, support is not the most important factors, everybody need high quality site, good uptime so their hosting will not need more support from their hosting. In this case, price will become an important factor, not support.

Not typically, Uptime ofcourse matters, however how good is uptime, if you have so many questions on how to do something, that nothing is accomplished? Think it's safe to say, they go hand in hand.
