I heard more about this technique but never tried it before. I want to start a blog at Blogger.com but using my own domain and hosting to store my posts. Is it possible?
Does any one share me any easy tips to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Cheerag

You can follow these simple tips to use your own domain with your blog at Blogger.com
Go to https://www.blogger.com and create a new blog for your profile.

After created a new blog, you click on Settings on right side column

blogger1.png

Click on the link set up a 3rd party URL for your blog

In the next step you fill your own domain in "Third party domain setting"

and click Save to finish.

Blogger will give you two CNAMEs like these

blogger4.png

Keep these cnames for next steps.

if you are using Godaddy for hosting your domain name, then it's easy to setup

Login to Godaddy, select Standard to change back to default setting of Godaddy, which allows you set DNS zone files in next steps

Edit CName www to point to ghs.google.com and Add Record 55762wr5uosv as following image

Delete current A record and adding 4 records @ with following IP addresses:

Code:
216.239.32.21
216.239.34.21
216.239.36.21
216.239.38.21
This to make your domain redirect from non-www to www

Now you can check your own domain to see if it worked with blogger or not.

Good luck!

I'm kinda lost for words, why in the heck would you want to use blogger.com when you have your own hosting and domain?

It's possible that he is under the impression that blogger is a Google product and therefore it will be indexed faster and properly optimized for on-page SEO. If that is the case there is some truth to it.

If you use blogger to create your website/blog, then you don't need a hosting to store your post or content.

IMO if you take your blog seriously, then go a web hosting route, otherwise reconsider your business strategy.

@NuWebHosting, I would go with the reply's EpicGlobalWeb above.

You only use your own domain and the rest (hosting) let blogger care for you and all your data will be stored on Blogger.
If this is just an option then you can use blogger for your blogs but if you want to make your blog really big and grow it, I would suggest to pick a web hosting and your own domain to start a new blog which you can control everything on it.

I'm sure someone has already taught you how to add your domain and hosting to a blogger account but why would you want to do that when you can just install WordPress on your own server? That way there's no branding, no restrictions, and you can add as many advertisements and plugins as you want. WordPress also has many more features and customization options than Blogger.

I think that the OP wanted to have SEO benefit when putting his articles on a high domain authority and it is being sponsored by Google, which can help a bit more for SEO.
