I want to change password in CentOS 6 without reinstalling my VPS. Normally I can get the password when I reinstall my VPS to my email but what will be happened if I forget my root password on my Centos 6. Where and how can I reset root password in CentOS 6?

Bryan,

What type of VPS do you have ? (the virtualization platform your hosting provider is using)

To reset a forgotten VPS root password you need access to the virtual console or web based control panel, this information should be included in the documentation you received when you purchased your VPS.

Your hosting provider will be able to reset the root password for you if you have forgotten it.

Within your hosting providers billing panel you can do the same as now a days every one has VPS automation so you can from client/billing panel or open support ticket with hosting provider and they will do it for you.
