Hi,

I would like to offer offsite backup to my shared hosting client, where should I purchase it from? Do share your experience.

You can use R1Soft back up solution. It is effective, cheap and easy to manage.
We have had no problem using them, I believe its 7$ a month for the license. It comes out cheaper if you get a storage server and use R1Soft for backing up everything to that server. You can also go for the ready solution which is more expensive but easier to setup: https://r1softlicenses.com/

Have not used: https://r1softlicenses.com/ for ready backup

If be saying "offsite backup" you mean that you want to offer backup option on an infrastructure which is external to your current one, then you have 2 options: a) To buy any appliance created for backup and to keep it on local storage;b) to get a online backup capacity with any company and to create back up accounts for your clients.

Doug you need to be able to restore data yourself or your customers to be able to do a quick restore on their web hosting accounts if necessary?

R1soft is feasible, thanks for reminding that option.

@Hostcolor, yes with offsite I mean different separate and independent infrastructure. I planned just we (host) could backup and restore when needed. If it is accessible to clients then it would be great.

Is there any similar feasible backup option for dedicated servers? We cant rely on dc to do everything without issues, right?

I didn't know this but will have a check.

I tried to backup my data from cPanel but it failed, I thought its data was too big and cPanel could not handle the backup.
