Some hosting companies are offering big discounts if I pay annually for hosting plans but I am not sure they can maintain their services for a long time which I have faced with same problems in the past. Should I pay monthly to have better services or annually for my hosting to have big discounts which save my money? what are the advantages of each one?

Hi bknights,

If you going with a new provider, it's always best to start with monthly billing until you have confidence and are happy with the host.
It's true annual plans can save you money, you can always switch over to annual billing once your happy.

I am paying for hosting billings 3 months a time, it is not too short or long period. Once I feel good with my hosting company I can pay 6 months but could not think more than that, because 1 year can be so long and everything can be changed.

I think, first of all you have to check the reputation of the provider you want to pick up! You can do it by carefully searching on google and try to avoid fake hosting review websites! These are usually pompous and their review subject is an client which paid to list his services as being exceptionally! Furthermore you may want to ask on forums for past experiences with that provider!

Assuming that you are looking for long term collaboration, you should pay first 1-2 months just to be sure what you will pay annually in the future! In that period try to interact as much as possible with support to see exactly what are you facing with!

Following this kind of procedure you will not fail! Remember that the aim is to pay annually for good services!

Agreed, never trust hosting reviews as many are fake. As I have said in other posts you only get a real idea about the quality of your service after a few months of being with a host.

I would pay annually if the price is affordable, it will save me time. If the price is not a no brainer, then pay more frequently.

It will not always save you time having annual billing, most monthly payments are taken automatically each month.

Hello,

Annually is an option if the hosting company has been in business for a few years and is trustworthy and reliable. also you need to ask yourself if the project that needs hosting is going to last longer than a few months. Some hosting companies will refund you the difference if you decided not to last the whole year.

In the past I have chosen to go monthly, but no matter what option you deiced the costs involved will hardly brake the bank.

Try using the service for 2 3 months, if you are happy with the server quality and support then you can go for yearly payment. It may save you some money too.

But pay annually can be more risks if their hosting services decrease time by time, some hosting providers were sold to other brand names or turn off their services in short time. Sometimes it could happen.

Hey Joe, exactly pay annually if we are hosting sites on a trustworthy and reliable hosting company but for a long time they can change their prices and features hence my hosting package can be set to a lower quality package? I have read some complaints about this.

If you have tested their server performance, tested their support quality then it would be ideal to pay annually and save on the discounts.
Of course there is always the risk however it shouldn't stop you from saving on a good hosting plan.

In the case where you have not used the hosting company before, pay monthly for two months to see check everything before paying for an entire year.

If it is the first time for me with a new hosting company, I would pay monthly, after tried some months, I used to pay 3 or 6 months period.

This helps me avoid low quality services from new hosting that I have not ever used before.

I would have to agree with paying monthly with a new host. That's the safest route if you ever have doubts. Most companies offer a 30-day money back guarantee so in reality that is like having a free 30-day trial of their service.

I would pay monthly with automatic billing sent from hosting companies. I find this helpful when I don't have more time to check hosting billings.

You usually get a 30% discount if you pay annually. If the web host is reputable, I don't see why not. Even when you have never used them, most reputable web hosts have a money back guarantee. Just make sure they are not a reseller.

It is a standard practice for Shared Hosting, the series to be prepaid on annual basis. For any other services - VPS, Dedicated, Cloud, Colocation or any other IT hosting services, the client might be on an annual contract or monthly payments, unless anything else is agreed.
