Hello, I want to create a bash script which allow me copy all files, directories, databases on my linux VPS. I found some ways online after trying other linux backup options which either sucked or required me to be the server administrator. I want to have an automatic way to backup files in schedule.

If you are using cPanel, Directadmin or Plesk, there is an option to allow you make full backup for your websites or you can choose custom backups. For example, you can backup just databases, usersnames or which websites do you want to backup.
When you do a fresh installation for your hosting panel on a new hosting, just restoring the files you made backups and you can use websites immediately.

I have to agree to virtubox, if you looking for file system level backups rsync in the way to go.
It can be automated with a cron job to do full and incremental backups.
