I was thinking about getting a .host domain but I saw the price $84.88/year and its pretty much expensive for me to build a new blog hosting, I should find .com domain instead but some big ones I liked then they are taken before.

It is expensive though, yes but with respect to SEO .HOST domain is worth getting. You should likewise consider .HOSTING I reckon would help getting your blog higher in rank just like this Forum "Forumweb.Hosting" came in top 10 Forums in the world in short time. Where there is no ideal domain extension like .COM in the market at this time, but specifically for the hosting industry .HOST and .HOSTING worth investments.

It really doesnt matter that much when it comes to SEO. You should probably go for a .com since its a blog and blogs take some time to get up and running to the point where they earn an income.

Im not sure if they are still doing this but in the past you could use a WHMCS license to get a free .host domain. If you have a license look in to it.

.com or other domain extension is not a problem, you can develop a website from these extensions. According to me, you need to be ready to pay for whatever price if you see it can bring profits

For me, I am ready to pay for 1 domain $1000+ if I saw it can bring benefits when I build a website from that domain and I can get money back after 3 or 6 months for what I paid for the domain. it does not matter much, does it?

I have to agree with HostPace on this. To be honest, I wa afraid that it's will have less opportunities to get good rankings when I tried with the domain .hosting because I saw most domains on top Google.com for this keyword are .com extensions but I was wrong, we can build, grow and ranking other domain extensions on first page of search engines without any problems, the problem is we need to provide what visitors come the website needs and a quality site for search engines so that its rankings will be boosted on search engine results in short time.

I wouldn't do it. Go with a standard .com domain.

I read answers from people on the forum, most of them like this extension but could not clarify why they like .com like that. It's so popular and familiar to everyone?

I agree with you, it doesn't matter so much between .host and .com domain for SEO. But everyone is so familiar to com extension.

I checked both .HOST and .HOSTING but could not explain why its price is more different, .HOST $0.88/year while .HOSTING is ~$26/year.

.host is $0.88 for the FIRST year. You will have to pay the $70+ the next year. There is no particular reason for the domain prices. It's a price fixed by the domain authority, but special domain like .host, .luxe, .agency are more expensive because they have a commercial value.

But you can also notice a .org cost more than a .com ... So I'm not sure there is a real reason for domains prices.

I agree for the .io, the two perfect letters for any provider selling SSD packages

Yeah, I remember cloud.io getting sold for $40,000. So it's definitely worth something as well. I've been ranking these domains as well, and it works very well.

.com .net .org, and .us are the overused domains. Who says you can't be unique it's not about the domain it's about what you offer to the members / clients.

I think it depends on your target audience. After surveying multiple "less techy" people, they have said they only trust websites that are .com, .edu, .gov, or .org. So a TLD like .host, might friek them out a bit! :p But if you are targeting industry such a gaming communities, .host could actually help

I think .hosting or .host can be good for a hosting forum or blog. For instance, this forum uses the .hosting extension. However, though, it might not be a good idea for an actual hosting business.

.Host extension is best for me, its expensive but it makes your hosting site better.
You can get .host for cheap somedays when there promotions but the renewal is expensive.
That is one huge block in getting one. Note, if you want to get one then you better make sure it's going to be worth the price.

Of course, we are assuming we are referring to trust as in getting a buyer. However, though, all websites are not commerical and also if a website is has a lot going for it besides the extension, then I think it can win people over and thier wallets. For instance, I'm sure this .hosting site makes money.

I feel that ICANN really shouldn't have allowed both .host and .hosting to be created, because it causes confusion in terms of which one a particular hosting company has chosen to use, if they register one of these new TLDs. Plus, like many other posters in this thread, I prefer the prestige that .com has.

I like .host extension but it really is limited to the hosting niche only, that's what I think. If you are looking to target worldwide audience then surely you can go for .com extension but you can always register .host domain along with .com for your company.

The extension is expensive but worth it. This gives you the best accessible tools in creating website. this is very useful in hosting industry. However it has a limit in niche only so you cannot target a worldwide audience.

I'd still go with a standard .com extension. You can always use any extension as long as your website since it still depends on your content.
