Well as VirtuBox said its dedicated, everything including the CPU cores are 100% dedicated to you.

Also one thing that most miss is that the uplink is also dedicated to you. having the entire 1Gbps or whatever the uplink is to your self is a huge advantage. On the other hand the uplink is shared on VPS and shared hosting.

There is only one feature with a dedicated server. It's dedicated , you don't share your resources with somebody else and can run anything you want without worry about system load.

I agree with VirtuBox and in my opiionon, it is dedicated sources without sharing with others.

Just curious, with a same price and configurations, I should choose a VPS or a dedicated server?

i.e, a VPS has 8 GB of RAM, 6 CPUs (cloud VPS) and a dedicated server 2 CPUs and 8 GB of RAM, which one should I choose is better?

VPS are often faster than small dedicated because they use last hardware components. But it depends of your CPU and the speed of the disk. You can benchmark them to see which one is the best.
But with the dedicated you have the resources all the time, not just in burst.

As most web hosting providers said to me, when you buy a dedicated sever mean you are getting what you are paying for.

Every aspect of the service is dedicated.

All of the hardware resources are yours to take full advantage of - Not like shared hosting where you only have a portion of the resources reserved.

The full uplink is reserved for you. You don't have to worry about "noisy neighbours" that use up more bandwidth than they should and leave the rest of the users of the "shared environment" significantly worse off.

As the whole machine is yours, it is easier to upgrade if you need to. You can make any necessary changes like reinstalling the OS yourself.

If you combine all of the feautures, the dedicated server has one huge "main quality" - The raw processing power is something that cant be beaten. If you run an I/O intensive website application only a dedicated server will be capable of handling it.
