Also, what's the catch? Like is better or worse then cPanel?

Agree / Direct Admin is a solid product - I have not used it but have seen videos ran the demo many years ago. Next to cPanel Direct Admin is a great choice.

You should try because it is a good hosting control tool and has good support from DA.

That's cool! I love the feedback and plan on trying this!

Cheers,

I used Directadmin in the past and it is a light hosting control panel with optimized functions.

I just want to ask, are there any alternatives for Directadmin or cPanel?

I found this thread is really useful and I bookmarked it for next installation of DA :D

Honestly I got the problem with updating hostname in my domain manager (Godaddy) and I heard advice of leto12 to switch to a CDN and it just took me 5 minutes to update hostname for new VPS and I can set reverse DNS on new VPS. I had to wait over 2 days but the hostname have not updated in doGodaddy, it's really bad for that.

If you could not access DA admin's URL after installed Directadmin, then you should run these lines to disable iptables of Centos.

service iptables save
service iptables stop
chkconfig iptables off
Hope it helps!
