I have used cPanel for years now, I used, directadmin, plesk and cpanel on one of my servers but I always stick to cPanel because it's easy to use and more functions to manage websites. I feel it better other custom control panel from web hosting providers. For you, do you accept other hosting panels or you just stick to cpanel only?

Cpanel is good and the most popular panel in the world. Users do not really know how to manage DirectAdmin or Plesk after Cpanel :) I know one company, which works with DirectAdmin only. They have around 70k hosting accounts and their migrating users do not know how to use Cpanel.

cPanel for Linux and Plesk for Windows are by fat the most common web hosting control panels on the market.

There are plenty of other good panels, some are maybe even better, but cPanel & Plesk are so common and well know, it would be incredibly for another panel to compete with their market share.
If you are looking to move from one host to another, it is a lot easier if both hosts use the same control panel. Otherwise, I don't think it would be too bad to use a host with a different control panel.
It all depends on what your used to and what features you need vs what features their panel offers.

cPanel mostly. I do like CentOS Web Panel and Direct Admin.
cPanel by far is the most popular Linux control panel. There's a good following for Direct Admin though - and many people prefer it over cPanel.

I've had a few different panels over the years, several hosts over the years, actually don't remember them all, as it's been so long. But for many years now it's been regular cpanel. Just what I am use to and know the best. Never seen a reason to use anything different.

Im money savvy person, for my websites i would probably use free/opensource pannels like zPanel, Webmin, Kloxo, centminmod.com or vpssim.com , but cPanel is well known and people demand it. Moreover cpanel support is very good. I usually receive reply to all support request via cpanel forum or they also help via ticket system. They have very good support and cpanel is very complex solution/bundle.

I am same on boat with you, DA and Plesk are complex with me although I used them, I found more convenient when using cpanel.

Does anyone give a detailed review about Directadmin? I am caring this hosting control panel.

You are right, if I use same control panel when moving to a new host, I can transfer all files and databases without missing any things. Does it require any configurations?

I used zPanel, Webmin but removed from my hosting, it's rather complex and having less guides on using them.

Vesta is a good alternative. Best of all, it's free.

For web hosting companies, cPanel is the best choice. I think for now at least, it would be very difficult to dispute this. For personal use and businesses, something lightweight such as Webmin may be a better choice because it is easier on resources.

The reason come also from the fact than cPanel have at least 75% of the market. Most of users have always use it, and it seems easier to use for this reason.
But I haven't use cPanel at the beginning, and when I have tried it after some other control panel, I haven't seen the "ease of use" as the first feature..
The only fact to have two address with 2 control panels to manage the same server is really not user friendly.

To provide web hosting, it's okay, as you will be the only one to use WHM, but to manage your own websites, it's really not the one I will recommend.
Why should I create another user than the admin to have an hosting package ?
And for the price there are several reasons to choose another solution than cPanel, because an user should not have to pay $20 for few websites.
For a VPS, Plesk have 3 package from $5 to $15, and from $15 to $35 for a dedicated server. It's the same price for hosting providers, but for somebody who just need to host his 15-20 websites on a dedicated server, it make a real difference. Especially if you want to start with a clean install, and not a template outdated available from your server control panel.

But like I said at first, when you use a solution for a long time, it's pretty hard to move to another.
