Primarily I use Chrome. Specially when I need to debug the code. Chrome has a Firebug like feature that would help you debug your code.
However, based on my experience, it is always best to check your site using different browsers. Some browsers might display your site differently. So you might include some if statement to correct the display on each browser platforms. Specially if you are developing a responsive page
Some platforms that you need to consider are Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Chrome and Safari. These are the most commonly used platforms.
Other browsers are developed based on these platforms. You may need to install these on your computer for testing purposes.
You might also need to consider Opera.

The browser I used for web development is Internet Explorer because it supports HTML5.
In my deployment of my web development, this is the type of browser I've been used.
I think this is a better browser because I can see all the changes and for my experience, there is no bugs I have experienced unlike some browsers, it doesn't support some functions when you play the videos and sounds. It doesn't support auto-play that's why I choose to used the Internet Explorer.
And for some effects of the text, Internet Explorer supports it. One example of text effect is marquee.
So Internet Explorer is good for web development. :)

I usually use my laptop when I edit my website, post articles, change the theme and such. And when I'm on my laptop, I primarily use Mozilla Firefox. I find this web browser to be extremely fast on my laptop. Plus, it has several useful tools that web developers could use.

I also use my smartphone to check and edit my sites. Even if I don't use my smartphone that much for website editing, I still am able to finish some significant work just by using a mobile device. So what do I use on mobile? Google Chrome. In my opinion, it's the fastest and most feature rich web browser for mobile phones.

At first, I used Mozilla Firefox, but then, I run it now on Chrome, because it is more flexible than Firefox.
