a graphic designer of mine is offering a logo design service but I want a really nice logo. I have used Fiverr and some designers on forums before, but I've also always had a very clear direction for them to work with. For logo design, I need someone who can make logo concepts with a bit more creative and professional work to offer me website logos as expected.

So how much would be reasonable price to offer to a logo designer? what is your experience about this?

Hi Roggy!

I have used fiverr and got some good work but the only thing I did was to choose the seller who allows revision. I can get revisions of his work till I am satisfied.

Regards,

I'm a freelance graphic designer for a long time and still striving for experience
You need to find a real graphic designer who really knows his/her stuff aside from being expert in editing in programs.
Graphic design is a modern term of Visual Communication. They're responsible for your visual problems.
Just because they're doing photoshop, illustrator that doesn't they're already a graphic designer.
That's like 'I own a DSLR, therefore I'm now a photographer"
You can still be a graphic designer without software programs if you have a solid idea of visual problems for your client.

So to answer to your question. It depends on the graphic artist you're working with. Every artist has their own different price.
For me, I work with $100-150.

Since it seems like you are wanting something more custom than you usually find on places like fiverr then you should be prepared to pay more for them. Something in the $100-$200 range will probably be expected, unless you want someone to work quite a while on it and the concepts. If that's the case, over $200 can be expected.

However, you can get some decent designs done by having a design contest and offering $50-$75 or so for a logo. Sometimes the competition will get people into a more creative mood and more willing to work harder to win a contest.

I've been using fiverr as well for logos, specifically mascot designs since I'm not very good at making them. I found one that did an amazing job creating my logo, my avatar is my communities logo. The guy charged 15USD and gave me all the files, including the resources. Some times you might strike out on fiverr since not everyone are as good as they say but if you're lucky you could get a logo for a relatively cheap price.

The price I would pay depends on for what it is, if it's for a community I wouldn't pay much, if it's for a business I would pay more.

That depends on the importance you place on your logo. I would not spend any money on a website logo at all. I do spend money on a business logo, especially if that logo is to be utilized in all sorts of branding uses. The more uses I have for a logo, the more I am willing to pay a professional designer to prepare the sizes and separations I need for the applications I'll use it for.

Branding logo and artwork packages can (as they should) go from $1500 USD through a couple of thousand - again, if all the applications are required.

A good logo can make your business (not only a website) look like a million dollar venture. If you need that look, then invest in a good designer who has a portfolio that exudes that quality of workmanship.

But truthfully, most websites can be worth a million dollars if they would just produce quality content without a logo.

What you should offer a designer for a logo depends on what you are needing that designer to do, how much work is involved and what kind of quality you are wanting for your logo.

I have paid from $10 to $200 for a logo so depending on my needs, that would more than likely be what I would offer to pay a designer for a logo.

Consider the time it might take and the quality as big determining factors in deciding on what you should pay for a logo.

The general rate seems to be around $150.
I don't have a set figure in mind of how much I'd pay. An example being if it was just a typography change - I wouldn't pay a great amount. If it was both mark and type - then the full designers rate seems more acceptable.
It really depends on the designer. Better designers charge more.

I tend to stay away from Fiverr and freelance places for designers - the work there in general seems less modern.

We work with a local marketing company and I know they charge around £150 to supply 3 ideas of a logo with changes. I know they get quite a bit of work and everyone has been more than happy with the work they they provide.

When it comes down to logos and design it generally comes down to the chosen company, some can charge hundreds or thousands simply for the art work and man hours invested into the project, while other one man business desingers tend to have lower fees so they can compete with the bigger coorporations, which also offer other services besdies graphical design.

I've seen a few people mention using Fiverr for logos. I think this is a really bad idea for businesses, particularly because much of the work isn't in fact unique. Furthermore, often the quality of work portrayed on their portfolios isn't an accurate representation of the products they actually fulfill. I'm sure there are a few good sellers but overall I think someone who is serious about their brand should shell out a bit more than $5.

Exactly! The logo is the first thing your customers will see. I would personally spend 100-500$ depending upon the quality of the work.
Many companies out there have a very simple but to the point approach for their logo's which make the company more noticeable.

Completely custom work, I would spend around $300 for. If we are just talking one stand alone logo. The least I have paid was $50 which was a very small and simple design and the most I paid was $300 for a more complex one.

The price will always depends on how many time do you spend doing it, but the prices for me would be between $80 and $150.
If I feel that you put much more effort than the required, I would pay more.

Decent custom logos in my opinion cost at around 50~100 USD. I frequent freelancer.com and I get the logos and resources I prefer at that price. Though, I get these from different freelancers as I do post competitions for me to get the best logo of my choice.

If you post a logo designing job on upwork, you can get the "best" logo for as little as $5 and you can even ask for number of revisions. There are lot of freelancers on upwork who are willing to work for peanuts simply because they want money desperately and they come from developing countries. If you check Fiverr you can find many sellers offering logo design for just $5. They even give you number of revisions and two logs for just $5. If you want the working files, you have to pay extra though.

I would advise against Fiverr too for the reasons mentioned above. Not only that, but find a graphic designer who you can personally Skype. For something that is $5, they really won't spend long creating it, so I can offer my personal designer that and get the same quality as Fiverr within an hour without waiting 3 days for it.

Every logo is different, which makes it impossible to give a flat
price for any particular design. This being the case, all graphic
designers use different methods to determine the cost for
developing a logo.
It depends on how the logo look like. If it cool and amazing I can give $10.
