I don't know if there is a certain style atm. What I should suggest is to develop your own kind of style. Be good in who YOU are. You will see that people will fall in love with your style.
I think it's hard to duplicate all the styles there are thats why it's important to stick to what's really yours.
I have developed logo's for years, and some didn't like my logo's and others loved it. That's how it goes. Personally i also didn't like to create logo's that where not my style because thats work to me in stead of my passion.
Maybe it's not a direct answer to your question, but it can help you on your journey .
Actually, the best way to look at logo design, is to look at the progression of big brands. For example, Compare ebay from 1996, to eBay from now. Not as round and bubbly anymore. Much flatter. Same thing with other brands like Apple, or even IBM. Everything is a lot flatter, more refined. 90's and early 2000's were very round and bubbly.
I think that nowadays logos become more and more simpler. And the ones that drive the most attention are the logos that have a hidden message inside. Like, when the longer you stare at the logo, the more you see. But still, it has to be simple.
As design is volatile and constantly evolving,it incorporates new trends, such as :
-minimalism :simple forms, minimal colors and effects
-lettering: the best choice for certain categories of companies
In a word:SIMPLICITY.
For these kinds of things, it's always better to do some research beforehand instead of scratching our heads, or wasting time, money, and efforts. The rule of thumb is always check the top of the list. See what the top logo designers are doing, observe how much sales they are getting, determine what kind of logos are most favored in the market. While different markets have different requirements, one can't expect to be mechanical in these kinds of things. A little creativity and a lot more research will not hurt. Check the competition, get the relevant ideas, work on your designs, and enjoy decent sales, that's the short verison of it all.
Also if there's some room from improvement then take some lessons if needed. Not necessary if you're already doing great.
there is never a trend for logo design because a logo can be used for anything. How it matches the company product or how it relates to the customers is the thing to look out for. A design can be developed by anybody, so do some research or creativity and come out with your company logo.
You should mainly focus on minimalism, logos that are clean, simple and sharp. You should also play around with the words of name of the company and create something interesting out of it, yet keep it simple. If you wanna go against the trends then you can go for a logo that has a lot of details and uses a lot of colors, because most logos nowadays are monotonous.
Having your own original concept of designs is definitely an achievement and for a logo designer like yourself maybe try to be creative for your benefit. But I understand that eventually creating unique designs requires time and passion which is likely you possess but I suggest you pick a design from some trending images and incorporate it with your own idea so that you have control on what output you desire. Maybe it's hard at first but just use your imagination to view the whole outcome.
Be genuine, simple but detailed, I mean if you gonna based your logo on what's trending now, it will not shine for the next few year. Logo is a trademark that will remark people for a long period of time. It will bring the name above everything else. Be genuine for creating a logo, make it your own and not from what is trending now. Use your own imagination, and ideas for making a such remarkable logo.
My observation is most logos of successful companies nowadays take on classic or simple designs but with a twist. The look appears minimalist emphasizing more with the brand. The text uses simple font, not the artsy or complicated types, but they play on colors or patterns or backgrounds. Some examples are logos of most mobile devices or desktops, banks, bakeries or coffee shops, etc.
There will always be innovative logo designs that will become so popular closely identifying the brand or company and will withstand the test of time. Like the Nike Swoosh, the stripes in Adidas, Apple logo, Starbucks, McDonald's, etc. This task is difficult, challenging and requires careful understanding of the market and brand positioning. There is no hard and fast rule to follow, just try to be different.
Simple logos are easy to understand, visually attractive, and may last or be accepted longer in the market. Complicated logos with loud colors may be eye-catching at first but may tend to be an eyesore, boring or just a fad eventually.
Actually logo represents a brand, so it is very important for any product. But day by day its pattern getting changes and consumer taste also getting changes, but the point is what is/ are the new trends about logo design, some of them below:
typography logo design
text logo design and so forth
These are some logo design trends those works actually very good on these days.
