Hey guys,
I am running an online wordpress theme store and want to start online marketing, please suggest me what to start first and its benefits, I can not go for both SEO and PPC simultaneously. Can I get any sale if I only go for Social Media marketing?
Please share your suggestions!

If I had to pick only one, it would definitely be PPC. AdWords will bring you instant traffic you can use to determine how well your site converts, what are the best keywords to target, etc. I always run AdWords first before wasting months working on SEO and/or building up a social following.

I agree with @SEOPub. If you target the right keywords with Google Adwords you will bring buying traffic to your website immediately. It will probably cost you a sizable amount of money to bring that traffic in, but as long as you stick with buying keywords and as long as your site converts well, then that should be a profitable investment for you.

If you choose the wrong keywords to buy traffic for or if your site is not good at converting shoppers into buyers, then it will get very expensive for you very quickly. So be very selective with your keywords (especially at first) and make sure you are turning those people into customers. Once you know your site is converting well, then you can invest in more keywords to test how well they convert.

If you want immediate traffic of highly targeted people, then buying PPC ads (specifically from search networks) is the way to go.

Just want to tell you that SEO should be your mandatory since it will has effect in very-longterm, so before you start with any paid-campaign whether ppc or smm you should optimize your SEO first.

At least make your on-page perfect as well as well designed site structure for keywords ranking. After those task done you don't need to focus on massive link building but you can target smm or ppc while making few links a week.

This is a bad idea, and I will tell you why. Nothing sucks more than spending 3 months to rank a page for a keyword or group of keywords only to find that the traffic does not convert into leads/sales.

With AdWords, you can figure that out in a couple of days or a week.

That's might be another point SEOPub, and what you're saying can be prevented by doing keyword research. And IMO SEO doesn't need to bring only lead, for Wordpress theme store there are many ways to drive traffic using SEO to increate your online visibility, people choosing for theme is not just regular housewives, they do a lot of research on the theme and the developer since they want to blog on them.

So what i mean is all the page should have their own keyword for "ranking" if you say so all the keyword must bring lead or else it will has no value :) I think it's okay to rank for appropiate keywords for each article.

This is a sample of what i did to start new website, before i went to the paid campaign, i optimize most pages so they can get some organic traffic, then i can assign my sub to make some links while i'm focusing on the lead campaign. BTW, i'm the big fan of long-tail marketing hahaha so maybe our concept might be different. Thanks for suggestion anyway! Just want to make sure that i'm not trying to misleading any newbie.

My point was that just because a keyword brings traffic or is highly searched does not mean it is a valuable keyword for what you are trying to accomplish. So you can run an AdWords campaign to discover that right away or you can work on ranking pages and wait months to figure that out.

Yes i got your point that's great!

But what i meant is that i think no one should ignore the SEO, even you're not going to make link it's still good to do few optimization first, just to maximize the chance of getting traffic :icon_mrgreen:

So you can rank naturally while you're investing on advertising or ppc campaign. It depends on the type of your website too.

You've picked one of the toughest markets to get into online. PPC is going to cost you a fortune given the amount of competition for a first page spot. It won't cost you anything if you can afford to get onto page 2 because nobody will be clicking.

SEO is going to take years, if at all, to get to page 1 and only if you get expert help. Even then, you will be competing against businesses which can afford the cost of PPC.

Social Media is going to be your best shot but only if you do it in spectacular fashion. You need to do something outrageous which will get you noticed and shared. And when you've done that, do it again.

There are other ways of competing, like collaboration with complementary businesses. You advertise a business through your site, and they advertise your business through their site. There are countless ways that businesses can help each other out.
Good luck!

Hello Guys,

It's really good topic to discuss......According to my think, you want to immediately traffic and generate leads from search and relevant users..you should chose PPC.........because SEO might show according to Google Ad-words.

If you want to quick results, then start with PPC, but this will stop traffic as you stop paying per click. If you want long term results you can go to SEO methods, but these methods will take your time, you should stay patience. It will not give you quick traffic to a website.
Social media is for sharing your products or service updates/news/tips. Social media traffic depends on your content that you share in social media.

All the best to you for your work.
