Is cloud hosting for photos or video sites faster and safer than traditional hosting? What type of safeguards are put into place to keep the cloud hosted sites safe?

Cloud hosting is definitely more reliable and faster compared to traditional hosting services. Cloud refers to an effective network of virtual hosting features and facilities which are hosted as well as managed by a third party. The companies have huge centers for data management. If you ever need hosting of data, you will have to buy or rent hosting service from them.

To answer your question if cloud hosting is safer, yes in a way.... in case of hardware failure that is as your data is distributed across multiple servers so it's protected against that (i.e. hard drive complete sets on fire. Your data is still good as it is also located somewhere else and fully accessible).

Other than that it's up to the provider to what they provide to make it further secure (data) with automated backups and snapshots.

Other then that, always keep in mind that nothing is 100% secure online. You can do things to attempt to prevent and make it harder for unauthorized breaches.

Cloud hosting can be more reliable, but it is not necessarily faster. It just depends on how it is setup.

The companies have huge centers for data management.
Also not necessarily true. You can setup "cloud hosting" using just 2 servers, or even 2 VPS's. Again, it just depends on the setup.

As far as the OP question, "What type of safeguards are put into place to keep the cloud hosted sites safe?", it depends what you mean by "safe".

If your talking about keeping the site online and available, then cloud hosting does provide a level of redundancy that will increase your uptime.

If your asking about data security in protecting against attacks, then cloud hosting does not provide any real benefit. As HostLumina said, there are steps you can take to secure a site/server, but nothing is truly secure online.

Yes, it is safe and it is a pretty popular type of hosting in these days.

Yes and no to both;

1. Is Cloud Hosting safer than Traditional Hosting?
A. No. Both are connected to the Internet. True cloud hosting is a Virtualized container platform; it is only secure as you yourself make it. Traditional Web Hosts (Shared) may be a safer alternative as they spend a great deal of time making sure that the systems are secure and optimized for best performance (depending on the host). So it's a pretty vast question you asked there. It can either be safer (i) if you are better at securing the platform than the next person; or (ii) it can be the most insecure, bug-filled not-working crap that you've ever used.... None of this is dependent on the host itself.

2. Is Cloud Hosting more reliable?
A. Yes and no. Who is it you are looking to get Cloud Hosting from? Is it one of those random hosts that *claim* they offer Cloud Hosting? How much are they offering it for? A couple providers I can vouch for that are truly utilizing Cloud Infrastructure are Rackspace, LiquidWeb & Amazon EC2 (neither of which are *cheap*, you're looking at a pretty penny). The above companies I have mentioned not only replicate data on-site, but also across numerous Data Centers protecting you that extra little bit... Traditional Web Hosts that offer "Cloud Hosting" use the term as a marketing ploy; a lot of them are offering simple Xen VDS or KVM VPS and store the user data on an external storage system, giving the appearance of Cloud Redundancy (some don't even do that, and just sell you a VPS/VDS as you would buy elsewhere. Finally, look at the answer of the other question you asked me. Once again, the host is only responsible for 40% of the service they offer you when it comes to Cloud/Dedicated/VPS unless you pay for a COMPLETELY MANAGED SOLUTION; this includes Hardware/Power/Cooling. You are responsible for the software. If you don't know what you are doing, no, Cloud Hosting is not more reliable.

No doubt its Best and for Some Extent safe But As Cloud resides in off-premise System there are chances of Network Attacks, You need to Secure your VPS or server.

Cloud Computing is becoming more popular in the market and small and large businesses are adopting this solution for their online and offline business.

Since the emergence of cloud computing in the late 90s, some myths and truths about the solution cause some people fail to take advantage of the benefits this service brings.

Its very rare that there are security vulnerabilities with the actual virtual hypervisor. There was one with Xen a few years ago that Amazon rushed out a critical patch for that I remember where privileges could actually be escalated in some scenarios. This is extremely rare and overall I would consider it safe.

Of course, it is safe because data are stored in highly safe and secured data centers. End-to-end encryption and multi-level authentication methods are applied to data which enhance information and application to access with full-secuity.

There nothing fundamentally safe, there always is a possibility of breach and hackers know how to exploit the loopholes. But users can make cloud experience safe if they follow best cloud security practices and are vigilant about their credentials.

Based from my experience, Yes it is safe, faster, and more reliable than other hosting services due to their end-to-end encryption and multi process of authenticating data in order to further enhance the content and ensure security. This way when you have unnecessary or unforeseen hardware failure, you will have back up on your files and definitely wouldn't be affected by the unexpected problem

Yes, Cloud hosting is much safer than traditional physical server it keeps your content safe. By distributing server data across redundant servers, information hosted in the cloud is protected against hardware failure. Automated backups and snapshots ensure that server content stays safe and up-to-date.

This greatly reduces chances of any downtimes in case of a server malfunction.

Surely, cloud computing is safe because though your data is distributed over the various server, you can define the encryption key for your data. Data on every server is distributed into chunks and each chunk has individual encryption. As every chunk is has separate encryption key so even if someone tries to decrypt the information, it will be in chunks so no one can encrypt it easily. It's hard to collect the distributed chunks together.

The sensitive data is placed on private cloud and other data is placed on public cloud. Also, cloud hosting provider has physical barrier like fence, concrete walls, security camera and guards too so no one can easily break the server physically. That is why cloud is first choice for data storage in every sector.

Assuming you're looking at the same host with the same security setup, there is virtually no difference. Ultimately, different host has different security and software setup. It's hard to argue if one is safer than the other. Nonetheless, if you don't want it exposed, it is better to keep it locked in your safe than to put it anywhere near the internet.

Yes. Cloud hosting is safe and reliable because your data will be shared on various servers which are protected by giving an end to end encryption and also it gives better protection to your data than the traditional hosting but it depends on the quality of the service that you are relying upon. The biggest risk is that you are losing your control over your data to many service providers but it is protected much better than the traditional hosting.

To be honest, there is is no such thing as 100% safe hosts. Not all hosting plans are created equal and treat client data the same way.
Selecting a good hosting provider does help in reducing the risk. It's recommended to ensure that they have the infrastructure in place to perform the necessary backups.

Many people are going for cloud hosting today but I can't say anything about the safety because I haven't made use of it before.
Yesterday I was on Google play store researching about some apps and I search for "SnapChat". I saw overwhelming complaints of loss of accounts by their users.I was now wondering that company like "Snap Inc" which make use of cloud hosting&storage to manage their data, still face an issue of data loss.

To me, I think before starting out on cloud hosting, you need to research first and get your hosting from a well known and highly reputable company like Amazon EC2, Rackspace, Google cloud, etc ( I think Google is cheaper, you can read about them here: https://cloud.google.com ).Also, the person hosting on a cloud server has to contribute to the management of their data by checking from time to time, not leaving all the work only to the cloud hosting company.
