Hi people,

Never go for bluehost. This is the worst server ever. This is my first time I experience where I find a server continuously down for last 48 hours.

We have a bluehost VPS server. Their server frequently goes down, which is very normal in bluehost. But this time things go even more worse. Our server is down since last 2 days. We already lost 2-3 hosting client.

We talked with them many times on chat and even on phone, they just say "We are working on it".

This is my advice to all people "Never go for bluehost..this is the worst server...."

Sadly, I'm not surprised. We have several customer that came from Bluehost, and I can't say I have heard any positive reviews of them.

I left bluehost after used their host one year, service and quality of hosting are very low, my websites got downtimes more times monthly.

Website loading speed is very slow which I can loose my potential customers when they visits my site hence I decide which should do.

From what I'm seeing from this thread, I guess I wouldn't consider them in the future. They will lose more and more clients over time.

Also had several customers coming from BlueHost (well, EIG in general, but BlueHost is one of their worst brands, which say a lot). With their reputation for downtime and general slowness, I'm not too surprised.

I have a few sites on bluehost shared hosting and have had no major problems at all...

I've also got site monitor set-up so I know instantly via email when my sites are down.... In the last couple of years the performance to date has been good... Saying that I've had my share of nightmare experiences with webhosts so for sure understand the frustration..

With bluehost I will be keeping a careful eye on things and for sure I'll be moving my sites should I also go through the same BS.... I've never used their VPS and have no intention of doing so after reading the OP.

I have noted that these days a lot more people are complaining about Bluehost (and other EIG) with it once being considered a great host which is continuing to go down hill...

Elcidofaguy, I have also heard other people with a similar opinion as yours.

Although EIG does like to oversell servers and skimp on hardware, probably the biggest difference in in support. If you have a hosting account that you have had for a while and it is setup properly, you will be ok as long as there arent network/server issues. They show their true colors when you need support.

BlueHost *used* to be a decent hosting provider, in fact it was one of the fastest growing providers a few years back. They had a corporate office, over 200 staff taking care of customers and the servers and a great leadership team.. Then came the sale to EIG, they let the original owner keep maintaining the company the way it was, until the realized that outsourcing the work could increase their revenue stream ten fold. So, they sold off the corporate office, appointed a new CEO and fired all of the full-time staff. Next the moved all the servers out of Softlayer's DataCenter over to their Utah DataCenter, and turned BlueHost into the pile of junk we all know of today.

Well, if you are talking about support, then its ok. Otherwise i have few friends who are quite satisfied with the bluehost.

I guess, the problem regards to the over use of the bandwidth, and yes i do agree unlimited bandwidth is not actually a unlimited bandwidth.

thanks
