Hi there,
There are the newest web hosting services. Could you give me any tips how to decide which web hosting package to buy?
Does it much depend on my plans about web site?

I recommend looking for a web host with positive reputation, stable and fast servers, 99% uptime guarantee and quality customer support.

And yes, I recommend discussing your website project with your web host to ensure that they can support all of your web hosting needs.

You need to find reputable web hosting services and see their reviews first before purchase their hosting plan. How long they are in business is really important

There are so many factors that need to be considered, I'd definitely recommend going with a Managed Hosting provider, save yourself a little bit of hassle. One thing you want to look out for is a host that oversells their services, when it comes down to pricing if you're paying less than $4.99 per month for your hosting package there is a good chance you're not going to get the support that you might want and things might not be as fast as you would expect. What i'm trying to say here, don't go with a budget provider ;)

I suggest you to try cheap web hosting solutions from rackbank. I am using web hosting services from last one year from this company without facing any problem.

Godaddy is great option for you. I personally hosted my blog on Godaddy from past 8 months and never had any problem or single downtime.

I only host my domains at Godaddy, not for hosting. Maybe your website is less traffic or small so you didn't get problems with hosting at godaddy. my sites hosted at Godaddy (~$10 / month) and must move to a new shared and VPS hosting.

I chose one of vps hosting providers at vps hosting offers on this forum. website is running well now.

I think you should switch to a VPS, you will feel its strength and it has more features without on shared hosting.

If you need my support on how to choose a vps, shoot me a PM :big_boss:

The only problem I see with switching from a Godaddy Shared Hosting package directly to a VPS rather than to another company's Shared Hosting package, is the main fact that unless you have the experience in maintaining, optimizing and managing a Linux platform for Web Content Serving then there is a 99% chance that you'll actually be utilizing the VPS that will operate slower than the worst of the Shared Hosting companies.

There is one huge myth that everybody seems to fall victim to, that has been eating at me for quite some time. A lot of people seem to think that a VPS is more dedicated than a Shared Hosting platform, yet what they fail to realize is that a VPS is Shared as well. The only main difference is that it gives you complete control on how you want to configure the environment to function at the operating system level.

Consider that a shared hosting company will pack hundreds of customers on one piece of hardware, but these are just web content serving customer. Looking at a VPS node which will house an average of 60 VPS customers on a piece of hardware identically configured to that of the Shared Hosting environment. Now consider some of these VPS customers will have hundreds of websites that are being served from their containers.

A VPS provider more effectively is able to utilize every bit of resources that are allocated to the dedicated system, and is able to generate more of a profit margin by being able to split these resources.

I only host my domains at Godaddy, not for hosting. Maybe your website is less traffic or small so you didn't get problems with hosting at godaddy. my sites hosted at Godaddy (~$10 / month) and must move to a new shared and VPS hosting.

Great post ElixantTechnology! It's all about well managed/configured shared hosting servers vs overcrowded poorly configured shared servers. The hosts that have the latter, tell their clients that their websites have outgrown shared hosting too early in-order to push their clients to upgrade to VPS or Dedicated Servers to soon for profit.

You may be surprised to learn how big EIG really is and how they are cornering the global market on domain/web hosting with this list here. Yep that's all your usual suspects which people can recommend e.g. bluehost, HostGator, SEO Hosting, FatCow, HostMonster .... So they maybe not much in it with these lot when compared to each other....

Saying that I do like bluehost and never had any problems... I also recommend Inmotion Hosting - they're real good and for VPS (using it for tools like GSA SER for tiered backlinking etc) - I use powerup hosting ...

InMotion Hosting is a solid recommendation. A2 Hosting has been great for me for over a year now too. Some smaller brands that are reliable are MDDHosting and BigScoots.

You can go for the web hosting providers that elcidofaguy said.

However, keep in mind that you should almost never buy web hosting packages from domain name providers like GoDaddy, Domain.com etc.
NameCheap is an exception since I've tried their web hosting packages and they are outstanding.

I would personally recommend iPage. I have been with them for 3 years now. I tried JustHost, BlueHost, GoDaddy, Hostgator and I ended up with iPage due to their low-cost unmetered hosting ($27/year).

GoDaddy -> 3 months (Awful UI and changes were not visible live)
JustHost -> 2 years (Very good hosting but their renewal price was too high)
BlueHost -> 1 year (Same as JustHost)
Hostgator -> 1 year (Great hosting, many features, private SSL included with business plan but their business plan was billing me $5 extra than I agreed on. As a result of that I requested termination of the account.)
iPage -> 3 years (Amazing hosting, it also has a lot of features for shared web hosting but 3rd-party SSL are not allowed to be installed on share hosting package. Overall no issues, great support, small waiting times both on chat and phone)
Namecheap -> 1 year (Extremely great hosting as far as the UK Datacenter is concerned. I was blown away from their support; extremely kind, supportive and resolved every issue in matter of minutes. Tons of shared web hosting features and you can install 3rd-party SSL on the hosting. If you don't have dedicated IP then you can use SNI technology and save money.)

The clear winners are iPage and Namecheap in my opinion.

To cut down on prices I think it's pretty important to browse around web hosting forums (such as this one) for web hosting offers. Then I'd choose one that has been around for a while and check their reviews. Each comment and recommendation counts. After that I'd contact the support and see how fast they respond and how sincere/helpful they are with their response. Big companies tend to have higher prices but the performance isn't guaranteed to be better, so going with an above-average reputated host and doing some research will help save some money for the same features.

It depends on your needs and website progress really.

If you have high traffic wordpress blog, then i would be looking at hosting providers like WPEngine, WP Synthesis and Pressable.

If you have low to medium traffic then sites like Hawkhost, Namecheap and Stablehost.

If your experienced with running your own server then Digital Ocean and Wired Tree are good, especially Wired Tree.

And of course you can use the very inexpensive options if that's what your after.

I would personaly stay away from the EIG brands now as there has been a lot of bad reports and reviews regarding them and there overloaded servers.

It would help to know what type of site(s) the OP is looking to host. Since this thread is from November who knows if they are still following this thread to tell us...

When you are going to choose a web hosting service you should notice on
1. Get enough Disk Space
2. Check Bandwidth for data transfer capacity
3. Look for uninterrupted Technical Support
4. Ask for Cpanel Access
5. Secure your website with SSL Certificate

I suggest you to go for cheap windows vps. They are providing
1 GB RAM (VPS)
$10 / month
1 Intel CPU Cores @2.0 GHZ
1 GB Guaranteed Memory
40 GB Solid State Drive Space
1 TB Monthly Bandwidth
1 Gbps Network Port
Windows 7/2003/2008
Remote Desktop Access
24*7 customer support.
1. It's not typically recommended that you host your traditional website on a platform such as windows. Keep in mind that software such as Apache, PHP and MySQL where developed for best functionality while under a Linux based operating system. I would also avoid any provider that offers Windows 7 as an operating system choice, as under the Microsoft SPLA agreement it is not possible to offer this legitimately, thus showing that the provider is illegally using software and could be ordered a take down notice at any point in time.

2. Getting enough disk space is extremely easy, surprisingly enough the average website will use between 500MB and 2GB of storage, thus making the grab for "unlimited" a null factor, showing that the claim is just a marketing statement.

3. cPanel access is a given, whether it be cPanel or another control panel, I do not know of any hosting provider that does not give you access to your own account.

4. A hosting provider that is offering large amounts of SSD storage for a low price. Keep in mind the average size of an SSD drive is 120GB, and the largest traditional one is only 500GB. These drives are extremely expensive to purchase and to maintain. Thus, if your hosting provider is offering say 40GB of SSD space for $10 then there may be an issue if you want to actually use the space allotted to you.

There are too many things involve when thinking to purchase a new webhosting service..If you are running a low traffic blog then I will recommend hostgator baby plan, but if your website drive comparative more traffic (4k-5k/daily), then Baby plan will not work...you will have to move some upgraded packages.

If u wanna go free, then hostinger, otherwise ixwebhosting
I don't recommend free host ever if you want to stick in online business...
