I want to have a new shared hosting plan for my blogs with features as it must have cPanel, good uptime, malware protection, support 24x7, ssd, fast loading...etc but there are so many offers here making me confused in choosing one as the best. How to choose a good shared hosting that you have ever not use them before? what should check, avoid and somethings to test making sure they will be a good provider to go with. Any recommendations, thoughts or advice to choose a share hosting plan. All your comments are welcome.

I did a lot of researching and finally went with a2hosting. Very fast wordpress optimized hosting and it comes with an exclusive plugin for optimization and security. I couldn't have picked a better host. I tested my blog on gtmetrix and got a 98% for page load speeds. Most of the scores were in the upper 90s and about half were 100%. Very secure, very fast hosting.

GTMetrix score is not impacted by your hosting provider service. Only the page loading time can be used to compare a shared hosting provider with another one. PageSpeed/GTMetrix are only about your website optimization according to the Webmaster Guidelines from Google.

Actually not true. Your domain's server environment has a huge impact on the GTMetrix and PageSpeed score. Such things as Accept-Encoding, Keep-Alive, Compression, to name a few, are part of the web server configuration. So a host needs to nail these things first. And then with a decent caching plugin that also handles minification you can get the high scores but the best test for page load time is certainly Pingdom.

To select a shared hosting one need to go through the TOS and check if there are any resource limitation or hidden clauses. If one wants to host blogs exclusively, then WordPress hosting is also a good option for consideration.

Of course all Shared Hosting Plans have limitations when it comes to CPU usage, there is no way a company will allow you to use 50% of over all server recourses when you are only paying a couple of bucks, most companies offer the same allowance when it comes to cpu usage / mysql and speed. If shared hosting works fine for you no need to upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated Server.

Most important is good support and uptime. Send some pre-sale questions to diffrent hosts in different times. See how fast they reply.

Check their money back gurantee before you sign up because you can ask refund if you are not happy with them.

How to choose a good shared hosting that you have ever not use them before?
That's not always easy to know. I would recommend doing some research and checking in Google for information on any web hosting company you are thinking about going with. Don't trust the review websites since most of them rank the hosts in order of who pays the highest affiliate commission or who sells more.

If you have one that you are considering then you can post a question about them here in the forum and that way you should be able to get much better reviews for either some current or previous customers or by someone in the web hosting business that knows some good information.

what should check, avoid and somethings to test making sure they will be a good provider to go with.
Check and make sure of exactly what you are getting for your money, especially the amount of resources that come with the plan you are considering. Read the terms to make sure that there aren't any catches or clauses that put some kind of limit on something you need or want. You might also want to see what their refund policy.

It can be hard to find a good shared host sometimes so always do some looking around for good information on the host before you make any final decisions.

You could duplicate your site on a subdomain at different providers to see which ones loads your site faster.

That is one option just doing a basic test to see what loads faster with 0 visitors, but the problem with that is the sub domain is not getting any traffic. The traffic is what increases cpu usage which is the most important thing so there is not downtime and maximum speed.

The only way to actually make that test work would be to make a copy of the blog on a sub domain, forward the domain temporary to a sub domain on na new server and monitor loading time, server load and cpu usage.

This is really an excellent question.

In the era of marketing, where every brand is shouting one and the same thing, what would make you buy a certain service from any provider. This just takes the cake.

Here is what I feel and its my two cents on this since I come from the web hosting industry, having worked here for long.

Firstly, understand your requirements. What do you as a blogger want for your blogs? More content? More videos? What is it? So, how much storage do you think you will need if you are doing this for a schedule or, consistent period of time.

Are your visitors going to be from your own country or other countries too? What's your actual market?

These questions will narrow down your search with respect to the storage required, bandwidth, budget, domains etc. and help you arrive at a plan or requirement of a plan.

Once you have it mapped, just see which provider has done well. Like you suggested check out their sites, that are hosted on some kind of a tool as you talk about and get an idea that 'okay this could be a good plan for me'.

I did follow this process and also got hosting of different providers tested via tools etc. to see which provider gives the best uptime, but honestly, these tools will only give you half the story.

So, I got a review and feedback from a colleague who was using HostGator India's VPS servers with similar requirements as mine. In a few days time, I hosted the blog and realized that I made the best decision ever. So, going forth, I feel find as much information as you can and find your own process and hosting that suits you.

Shared hosting is a more affordable web hosting solution as the resources of one particular server are shared among several different websites. The costs of the server maintenance, management, anti-virus software and other items can then be divided among the various web clients. Each website is allocated a specific amount of disk space. Sometimes critics say that shared hosting packages do not have good service levels; however, shared hosting packages are generally the bread and butter business of most hosting providers. A reputable web hosting company therefore pays a great amount of attention to the service levels it offers its clients on shared hosting packages. If you select a good provider service, levels should not be a concern.

Choosing a shared host for your blog is a really important decision to make. But if you choose a reliable company with lots of expertise with blog you won't go far wrong.
