Dedicated RAM vs Shared RAM?

The Dedicated RAM is when the amount of RAM mentioned is 100% dedicated to you and you only (not shared with anyone else on the server).

Having Dedicated RAM means your performance is stable and is not effected by others on the same server much like a Dedicated server. This is because regardless of how much others on the same server abuse their RAM, your RAM is not effected.

On the other hand if you were using Virtual RAM or shared RAM, your RAM would be shared with others on the server or would have limitations e.g. you can only take advantage of your entire RAM resources for a certain amount of time then it will decrease as a penalty (this is called burst).

Host offers VPS plans to 6 customers, each getting 2Gb of ram.

If it is dedicated ram, you will always have 2Gb available to your VPS
If it is shared ram, them the host could add more customers to the server, and you may only get 1Gb of ram during peak hours.
