I love Wordpress since there are lots of themes for free and paid ones are very professional and they are available at websites offering themes, also I feel easier to develop a professional looking website in matter of hours from theme frameworks as Genesis, Headway, Divi, Themify..etc.

Wordpress is very easy to use and that is why everyone loves Wordpress to be my first choice as CMS. What about you? In your personal opinion, what is the most used CMS?

I dont believe there is an accurate stat which says which CMS is the most used however from experience I would say wordpress.
I also love wordpress since it has such large community of both developers and users around it.
While it uses a lot of resources, due to advancement in technology, hosting companies can now offer good enough specs for their shared hosting to support wordpress websites no problem.

There may not be a "down to the numbers" statistic, however, I did read on a major SEO blog that roughly 20% of the entire internet, including blogs such as Life Hacker use, or have used WordPress. 20% of the internet is about 200,000,000 websites I believe.

About 120 websites are registered every minute around the globe. About 24 of them will use WordPress.

Currently, the most used CMS is WordPress due to it's easy to use interface. Other features of WordPress CMS -
Highly flexible towards beginners and experienced users too.
Enables management and organization of content of various types - articles, photos, videos, stories, tutorials and so on.
Functional and pleasant to browse.

Another thumbs up for wordpress here, however Joomla is very decent.
It's also easy to use a framework such as bootstrap with either of these CMS, if u want to develop your own theme.

My opinion happens to be one based on facts. Wordpress is the most used CMS around the world overall. Just Google it and you'll see for yourself. Marketing Land brings this point up quite often as well as countless other sites and statistical authorities.

Currently Wordpress is used by 26.6% of all the websites, that is a content management system market share of 59.2%. Easily the most accessible and possibly the most commonly used, the strength of WordPress is in its quick installation and the massive user and developer community that results in a vast array of plugins and enhancements for the platform.

You can see the overall all of the CMS using on the internet here

Good luck to you,

Why don't you add Prestashop in your list, i think it also a good eCommerce software and more good themes go with.
Joomla seems an old platform and I see its rarely used on big websites any more.

I dont believe there is an accurate stat which says which CMS is the most used however from experience I would say wordpress.
I also love wordpress since it has such large community of both developers and users around it.

I don't know why, but I used Wordpress with Wooecommerce plugin then it required many extras plugins and it loads pretty much.
I have to increase RAM for using on Wordpress sites that integrated wooecommerce.

The most used CMS in my understanding is Wordpress. Next in line is Joomla. Joomla tense to have more advance features than Wordpress. I seen a huge amount of mod and extension on Joomla, but Joomla extension make up more of propriety base.

However they both have one disadvantage that is not currently being fix after a lot of version. That is the default administrator path. This path is so common that anyone that had previously know about the systems know how to get to the login screen for the backend. That is in the event the admin doesn't know how to install security properly.

For something more advance and reduce that risk, you can use something like Modx CMS system. However, Modx is not an easy to use system. You need to know some coding and templating for this to work.

Well my opinion is based on both opinion and facts. First off one of my college professors told me that Wordpress is the most used CMS. Secondly we had to do some research on the subject to verify or argue his statement. We all found that it it true that Wordpress is the most used CMS.

I like Wordpress because it was easy for me to learn so I am sure that it's ease of use is one factor that helps it become the most used CMS.
