I have a small site, its just require less than 500MB storage, average ~30k unique views a month, less than 5gb data transfer. Which option would be cheaper for a year?

I heard of AWS EC2, I only need PHP/MySQL, can this compare to a shared hosting?

Hi Harry,

I see you're in Perth. Nice to see a fellow Aussie on the forum! We're based in Perth too.

Have you considered signing up for a business-grade hosting plan? That would be the cheaper option. Alternatively, you could sign up for a VPS but then you would have to pay for management (assuming you don't know how to manage a VPS yourself) and licenses.

I have already got a managed VPS but just want to have a shared package more for any small sites. What is your offer? PM me if interested.

I haven't ever used AWS hosting and seeing some big sites using it so that I am just curious about its quality and services.

AWS can be a good solution, but it can also come at a big price. I have heard many horror stories of users having a post go viral, or shared by someone with a large following.

The traffic to their site spikes. Their resources spike, but AWS scales and handles the load perfectly.
Their happy!
Until they get the monthly bill!!
